Connor McKinney

He was born in Scotland and in 2015, moved to Perth, Australia, when he was 12. His father got him started playing golf at age four.
Since moving to Australia, McKinney has been a frequent visitor to his Scottish homeland and his grandparents, having played in both the Scottish Boys Championship and the national amateur championship in 2018. One year later, he was the leading qualifier for the match-play stages of the 2019 British Boys Championship in England. That notable feat led to him being selected for the Great Britain & Ireland Boys team that lost to the Continent of Europe in the annual match for the Jacques Leglise Trophy. He played in several Amateur events, including the 2021 Asia-Pacific Amateur, where he finished T-16th. He won the 2022 South Australian Amateur and then holed a 25-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win the Australian Amateur Championship. He then traveled back to Scotland and won the St. Andrews Links Trophy Championship.
At the end of the year, McKinney turned pro and was T-41st in his first start at the Fortinet Australia PGA Championship. The next week was T-34th at the Handa Australian Open.
2023 Notes: He played on the Challenge Tour, his best finish was T-5th at the Kasskada Golf Challenge.
