Dave Ryan

Ryan is reigning U.S. Senior Amateur champion. Now retired, he began playing golf at the age of 9, thanks to the influence of his mother. Married to wife, Amy, and has a 24-year-old son, Zac. Enjoys spending time with his family, going to movies, and living in Scottsdale, Ariz., during the winter months. Also has enjoyed watching his son evolve as a golfer.
Missed the cut in his two previous U.S. Senior Open starts: 2007 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wis., and 2011 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. Qualified for three U.S. Amateurs in 1986, 1989 and 1997, advancing to the Round of 32 in 1989. Lost in the Round of 64 in 1995 U.S. Amateur Public Links. Played in three U.S. Mid-Amateurs (1995, 1998 and 2001), advancing to match play in 1998. Advanced to the Round of 16 of 2010 U.S. Senior Amateur. Represented Illinois in 2003 and 2007 USGA Men's State Team Championships. Won the 1993 Ozark Invitational in a playoff over 1981 U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Jim Holtgrieve. Also won the 2003 Illinois State Mid-Amateur Championship, the 2006 Illinois State Public Links Championships and the 2009 Illinois State Senior Amateur Championship. Inducted into the Taylorville High School Hall of Fame in 2004. Named 2009 and 2010 Chicago District Golf Association Senior Player of the Year. Five-time Illinois Senior Player of the Year.
