Erik Hanson

Had a 14-year professional baseball career, which included 11 years in as a major league pitcher. He played with the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays and was on the 1995 All-Star Team as a member of the Red Sox.
Attended Wake Forest, where Billy Andrade and Jerry Haas led the Demon Deacons to a national baseball title in 1986. Says Hanson, "Ironically, I lived right next to them in the Arnold Palmer dormitory although, at that time, I didn't have much interest in golf."
Started playing golf in the early 1990s when he would participate in charity scrambles. At the end of 1996, he joined Sahalee C.C. in Sammamish, Wash., which gave him a place to play and practice. Played in his first golf tournament after retiring from the MLB in 2000. Plays in roughly 15 tournaments annually, predominately in the Northwest.
He won the 2007 and 2010 PNGA Master 40, 2005 Oregon Open, 2004 Northwest Open and 2002 PNGA Mid-Amateur.
He and his wife, Laura, have two cats.
Hobbies include following the financial markets, business, reading and music. He's also involved with some local charities.
