Greg Bruckner

Started playing golf with his dad and friends on a par-3 course near his home. Before gaining exempt status in 1990 after failing three previous times, Bruckner played on the Asian Tour where he was fourth on the 1988 Order of Merit with $68,000. After winning the Singapore Open, he received his $33,000 prize in cash, and spent a sleepless night with it stuffed in his hotel room mattress before mailing it home in a check.
Bruckner's shining moment came at the 1988 British Open, when he became the early leader, with a front-nine 31, thanks to back-to-back eagles at the sixth and seventh and a birdie at the eighth. His moment ended, however, with a 41 on the back nine. He did make the 36-hole cut, but finished T-67th.
Played on the PGA Tour between 1990 and 1992. Had a total of 72 PGA Tour starts, and his best finish was T-14th in the 1990 Texas Open. He made 34 cuts and had career earnings of $140,356.
Played the Web.com tour from 1992 to 1999 and in 2004. Throughout this time, he played in 208 events, winning once at the 1992 New England Classic - his only win of four top-three finishes. Had 20 top 10s, made 108 cuts and earned $307,132. Best year on the Web.com Tour was 1992 when he finished 30th on the money list with $45,725 in earnings.
Since turning 50, he has attempted PGA Tour Champions Qualifying School each year, finishing T53rd in 2010, T25th in 2011 and T25th in 2012. In 2013, he earned a conditionally-exempt spot for 2014 after finishing sixth. He was among five players T-4th after 72 holes. Missed on earning one of the two fully-exempt spots in a playoff, settling for sixth after making par on the third extra hole.
2014 Notes: Played in 11 events with only one top-25 finish - T-25th at the Senior PGA Championship. At the end of the year, he went back to PGA Tour Champions Qualifying School where he finished T-21st.
2015 Notes: With limited access played in six events, best finish T-21st at the Tucson Conquistadores. Returned to Q-School after the year and not getting a full card with his T-20th finish.
2016 Notes: Just two starts, T-46th at the Mitsubishi Electric and missed the cut at the Senior PGA Championship.
