Jason Scrivener

Born in South Africa, he started playing there at 8 and moved to Perth, Australia when he was 10. Enjoyed a successful amateur career in his home country, winning the Australian Junior Championship in 2007 to put his name alongside those of Jason Day and Adam Scott. He ranked in the top-5 in the Australian ranking and was also ranked in the top-30 in the World Amateur Ranking.
Jason turned pro in 2010 and joined the PGA Tour of Australasia completing his first season on Tour with two top-20s. In 2011 he recorded his best finish to date with a 5th at the South Pacific Golf Open Championship. In 2012 Jason also competed on the Canadian Tour after earning his card finishing 3rd at Qualifying school. Had a T-8th finish at the WA Goldfields PGA Championship and a T-19th finish at the Tour's richest tournament the ISPS Handa Perth International in 2012 was enough for Jason to retain his card for the next season. 2013 was another consistent year for Jason with a T-7th finish his best result at the Talisker Masters. He finished 11th on the Order of Merit to easily retain his card. Jason also played on the OneAsia tour. In 2013 he managed to qualify for four tours playing on the Australasian, Canadian, OneAsia, and European Challenge tours. In 2015, he managed four T-18 finishes on the European tour.
Was inspired by former European Tour winner and club-mate at Mandurah Country Club, Jarred Moseley, to target a career in Europe after several years playing on the Australian circuit and twice progressed from Qualifying School in 2014 and 2015.
2015 Notes: Played in 21 European Tour events making 12 cuts with one top-10 finish, T-3rd at the UBS Hong Kong Open. He finished 117th in the Race to Dubai. On the Australian Tour finished T-3rd at the Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open.
2016 Notes: Played in 24 European Tour events making 14 cuts. He was in the top-10 three times, 3rd at the ISPS Handa Perth International, T-7th at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and T-10th at the Trophee Hassan. Was 105th in the Race to Dubai. In Australia was T-4th at the Emirates Australian Open.
2017 Notes: Played in 25 European Tour events making 17 cuts. Was in the top-10 four times, best finish was 4th at the ISPS Handa Perth International. Finished T-5th at the Rocco Forte Open and D+D Real Czech Masters. Finished 103rd in the Race to Dubai. On the Australian Tour won for the first time at the NSW Open, was T-19th at the Emirates Australian Open.
2018 Notes: Played in 31 European Tour events making 19 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 68th in the Race to Dubai, he earned euro544,379. Best finish was T-6th a the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
2019 Notes: Played in 26 European Tour events making 19 cuts with seven top-ten finishes. Was 32nd in the Race to Dubai, earning euro1,018,789. In his first start of the season, was T-3rd at the Hong Kong Open, six shots back of winner Aaron Rai. His next start was T-6th at the Australian PGA Championship. Was T-7th at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and then T-5th at the Hando Vic Open three shots back of winner David Law. After finishing in the top-ten in four of his first five starts, he didn't have another top-ten for 16 starts until he finished T-7th at the Mutuactivos Open de Espana. Ended his season with a T-3rd at the Nedbank Golf Challenge five shots back of winner Tommy Fleetwood. Next week was T-10th at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. He then got married.
2020 Notes: Played in 19 European Tour events making 12 cuts with three top-ten finishes. He was 109th in the Race to Dubai and won euro168,222. He struggled most of the year, a lot had to do with his location and COVID-19. Was T-8th at the Handa Wales Open and two weeks later was T-8th at the Portugal Masters. Best finish for the year was T-6th at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open, three shots back of winner Callum Shinkwin.
2021 Notes: Played in 17 European Tour events making 12 cuts with four top-ten finishes. He was 21st in the Race to Dubai. In his first start was 2nd at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, four shots back of winner Tyrrell Hatton. Hard to believe that the PGA Championship was his second major start, he missed the cut in the 2018 U.S. Open. Up to the point had only played in America twice, the U.S. Open and the 2020 Memorial he missed the cut. Was T-23rd at the PGA Championship. Flew back to Europe and was T-3rd at the Made in Himmerland, T-6th at the Scandinavian Mixed, and T-9th at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Ended the season at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, finishing T-21st.
2022 Notes: He was T-9th at the Ras al Khaimah Classic. Was T-4th at the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, ten shots back of winner Linn Grant.
Like many Antipodeans, he enjoys surfing in his free time.
