Jeff Wilson

Wilson won his first USGA title at the 2018 U.S. Senior Amateur championship when he defeated defending champion Sean Knapp, 2 & 1, at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore. Wilson became the first medalist in 31 years to win the U.S. Senior Amateur. He won the 13th, 14th and 15th holes to take a 2-up lead and finished the match on the par-4 17th with a par halve.
Wilson has been playing the game of golf since age 9. When he's not playing golf, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Vickie, and children, Jack and Olivia. His son Jack played collegiate golf at Brown University. Jeff works as an automobile salesman at Toyota and a reinstated amateur as of 1997.
Played full-time on the PGA Tour in 1990, and in 38 starts his best finish was a T-7th in the 1990 Buick Challenge. Was a finalist in the 2009 California State Amateur.
Wilson has competed in a total of 32 USGA championships. He played in four U.S. Opens, earning low-amateur honors in 2000, and has played in 10 U.S. Amateurs. In 2000 and 2010, he advanced to the first round. He was the stroke-play medalist in 2010. His best finish was in 1985 when he advanced to the second round of match play. His lowest 18-hole competitive rounds was a 10-under-par 62 in the 2010 U.S. Amateur.
In his 12 U.S. Mid-Amateurs, he has advanced to match play in every one and has been a semifinalist twice. He earned stroke-play medalist honors in 2000, 2001 and 2004.
Wilson won both the California Senior Amateur and the Southern California Mid-Amateur in 2018 and lost in a playoff for the Northern California Mid-Amateur championship.
Along with his U.S. Senior Amateur title in 2018, Wilson was also low amateur in the 2018 U.S. Senior Open while finishing T-31st after rounds of 76-71-70-73. He will be competing in his fifth U.S. Senior Open.
