Jenny Shin

Started playing golf at age 9 and credits her parents as the people who most influenced her career. Her grandfather owned an indoor driving range in South Korea, and Jenny would tag along with her family every day to hit balls. She and her family moved to the United States from South Korea in 2002 because the Shins couldn't afford to join a course or pay for their daughter to play in tournaments in South Korea.
When she's not playing golf, Jenny enjoys reading and shopping. Says if she wasn't a golfer, she would like to have been an artist. Claims the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings to be her favorite professional sports teams. Her favorite on-course snack is Nutella on bread.
She won the Los Angeles City Championship at age 10 and three years later won the 2006 U.S. Girls' Junior, where she defeated Vicky Hurst in the final. Shin's victory at 13 years old secured her place as the second-youngest golfer in history (after Aree Song) to win the championship.
She missed the cut by one stroke at the 2008 U.S. Women's Open but continued to play well throughout 2008 and 2009, making the AJGA All-America first team in 2009 for the third consecutive time.
