Made an immediate impression during 1999, his first season that he played on the European Seniors Tour. In 17 events finished runner-up four times, MDIS & Partners Festival of Golf, Dalmahoy Scottish Seniors Open, Monte Carlo Invitational and the Ordina Legends in Golf. Also finished in the top-ten, 11 times as he won 105,243 pounds finishing third on the order of merit. One of the most popular figures on the European Senior Tour and is nicknamed "Mouse" after the cartoon character "Mighty Mouse" because of his prodigious length off the tee despite of being only 5'6". A natural athlete, Bruner first took up golf at the age of 14 when he realized he was never going to be big enough to play basketball or American football. Played the tournament players series in America in 1983 and '84 but failed to make the breakthrough onto the regular tour. Missed getting he PGA Tour card by one stroke in 1982, and two strokes in 1983. With that he went to work at Papa's supermarket in West Los Angeles from 1984 to 1995, running the market for a friend. Became an independent distributor of G&A Snack Company in Montebello, Ca. between 1995 and when he turned 50 in 1997. Returned to golf full-time when he reached the age of 50. Has played on the European Senior Tour since 1999 enjoyed his best season since 2003 when he ended the 2010 campaign in 12th place on the Order of Merit, with five top ten finishes including runner up in the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open. Has been a consistent figure on the Senior Tour for 12 seasons and continues to compete at the highest level. Worked hard to improve his swing and was rewarded when he won the 2005 Algarve Seniors Open of Portugal, draining a 30 foot birdie putt on the last green for a one stroke victory and his third title on the Senior Tour. His first win came in the 2001 European Seniors Tour Championship and the second in the 2003 De Vere Northumberland Seniors Classic. Finished third in the Order of Merit in his rookie season in 1999 and fifth in 2001.
