Jim Hallet

He comes from a golfing family, his hrandfather was a professional and his father worked as an assistant to Art Wall. As a youth he loved Hockey over golf and didn't devote himself fulltime to golf until Bryant College, dropped the sport. As an amateur he won the 1984 Rhode Island Open, 1985 Massachusetts Open and the 1986 British Columbia Open. He lost the Northeast Amateur Classic in a playoff with fellow toursit Chris Perry. He turned professional in 1984 and failed in his first three trips to Q-school. This forced him to play on the Asian Tour were his won the Order of Merit in 1987. On his fourth visit to the Qualifying tournament in the fall of 1987 he finished second. Since getting his card, he's been in the top 100 every year and had his best finish last year at the B.C. Open, finishing 2nd after losing a playoff to Kenny Knox... 1990 PGA Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 35; in money - 23; top ten finishes - 3; stroke average 71.21 (ranked 93rd); money $204,059 (ranked 76th)... 1990 PGA Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 31; in money - 24; top ten finishes - 3; stroke average 70.71 (ranked 51st); money $333,010 (ranked 49th); best finish 2nd USF&G Classic.
