Amateur
Anschutz earned first-team American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) All-America honors. In 1981, she won the AJGA Tournament of Champions and the Hudson Junior Invitational. Anschutz was the 1984 British Amateur champion and a member of the U.S. Curtis Cup and World Cup teams during that same year. As a collegiate player at the University of Tulsa, she won seven tournaments and was the team's most valuable player in 1982, 1984 and 1985. She claimed runner-up honors at the 1982 and 1985 NCAA Championships and was a four-time All-American. She claimed semifinalist honors in the 1984 U.S. Amateur after winning the 1983 Broadmoor Invitational. From 1983-85, prior to joining the LPGA, Anschutz made the cut in three U.S Women's Open Championships and one Nabisco Dinah Shore. In 1984, she tied for 27th at the U.S. Women's Open and Columbia Savings Classic.
