Rebula became the second South African winner of British Amateur Championship in 2018 with a 3-and-2 win over Ireland's Robin Dawson at Royal Aberdeen. The victory came 52 years after South African Bobby Cole won. With the victory, he earned invitations to both the 2019 Masters and U.S. Open.
His mother Carina, is Ernie Els' sister, making Els "Uncle Ernie." Rebula has spent a lot of time playing with Els at Oubaai Golf Club, a course the veteran designed in Herolds Bay, near Rebula's home town of George on the southern coast of South Africa. Rebula played at the British Open at Carnoustie and missed the cut, and a month later, didn't reach the match-play portion of the U.S. Amateur. He played at the South African Open in December and finished T-24th. He also played at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic where he missed the cut. Two weeks before the Masters, Rebula won the Georgia Cup, which pits the U.S. Amateur champion against the British Amateur champion. Rebula defeated Viktor Hovland, 1 up. At the Masters he missed the cut, he also missed the cut at the Memorial.
Rebula is in his junior year at Auburn University.
