Kelly Tan

Started playing golf at age 12 and credits her dad and mom as the individuals most influencing her career. She speaks English, Chinese, and Malaysian. She played volleyball while growing up in Malaysia but turned to golf to avoid injuries and also because you could play by yourself. Enjoys the guitar and going shopping. Kelly said she started seriously considering playing on the LPGA Tour after spending her senior year of high school at the IMG Academy in Florida in 2012 after receiving a scholarship from the Sime Darby Foundation.
Was an amateur in 2013 and finished T13 at the Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 12 for the 2014 LPGA Tour season; turned professional immediately following the final round. She is the second Malaysian to play on the LPGA Tour, after Siew-Ai Lim (1999-2008). Won the Malaysian Ladies Open twice as an amateur and then as a professional in 2013.
2014 Notes: Made the cut in 9 of 20 events in her rookie campaign to finish 89th on the money list. Best finish a T-4 at the Marathon Classic.
2015 Notes: Made the cut in 11 of 21 events with a best finish of T-25th at the Kingsmill Championship, ranking 95th on the money list.
2016 Notes: Played in 23 LPGA Tour events making 15 cuts, her best finish was T-16th at the COATES Golf Championship. She represented Malaysia in the Olympics, finishing 51st.
2017 Notes: Played in 20 LPGA events making six cuts, her best finish was T-24th at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open.
She played on the Epson Tour in 2018 and 2019. Tan was 33rd on the 2019 Epson Tour money list and won Floridaâ??s Natural Charity Classic for her first victory. She beat Demi Runas in a playoff. She regained her LPGA Tour card for 2020 by finishing T-20th at 2019 Q Series.
2020 Notes: Played in 15 LPGA Tour events making 13 cuts with one top-ten. Finished 37th on the CME Points list and 54th on the money list with earnings of $223,397. Was T-9th at the Marathon Classic. Finished the seaon 65th at the CME Group Tour Championship.
2021 Notes: Played in 14 LPGA Tour events making seven cuts. She was 140th on the CME Points list and 137th on the money list with earnings of $48,910. Her best finish was T-22nd at the Lotte Championship. Played in the Olympics as a member of the Malaysia team, finished T-34th shooting 64 in the final round. In December, she finished T-12th at LPGA Q Series to regain her tour card for 2022.
2022 Notes: Was 2nd at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with partner Matilda Castren, they were five shots back of winners Jennifer Kupcho and Lizette Salas. Here best individual finish was T-17th at the ShopRite Classic.
