Laura Baugh

Baugh had her first tournament win at the age of three, in the National Pee Wee Golf Championship, and went on to win it four more times. As a junior, Baugh would sneak onto local golf courses to play because her family could not afford a golf membership. In 1971, at the age of 16, she won the U.S. Women's Amateur and became the youngest champion in the event's 76-year history, a record that wasn't beat until 2012 by 15-year-old Lydia Ko. In 1972, Bough represented the United States on the successful Curtis Cup team and aided the USA in winning the Espirito Santo Trophy at the World Amateur Team Championship. Baugh was offered a full academic scholarship to Stanford University, but declined because Stanford did not have a women's golf team
Baugh's professional career started in 1973. She played in events in Japan until she earned her LPGA Tour card on her first attempt the same year. In her LPGA Tour debut, she earned second place and was honored with 1973 Rookie of the Year.
Baugh played full-time on the LPGA Tour between 1973 and 1999. In that time she made 456 LPGA starts making the cut in 329 of them. She was in the Top 10 73 times and the top five 34 times. Despite never winning on the LPGA Tour, she was runner-up 10 times and in her LPGA career earned $712,503.
In 1999, Baugh wrote a book titled "Out of the Rough." She is a member of the women's senior golf tour and works as a publisher and TV announcer for The Golf Channel. Baugh is the proud mother of seven children.

Baugh shot 83-80=163 (+17) to miss the cut in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open.
