Mark McNulty

Was a solid athlete in several sports as a youth, but excelled at golf. Has managed to rebound from a series of physical setbacks in his career. Escaped with facial injuries when his car collided with a bus near his parents' farm in 1980. While on vacation in Cape Town in December 1993, suffered a freak nerve injury in his neck while playing cricket with his children, and a knee injury curtailed his 1995 season.
Joined the Champions Tour in 2004, and went on to earn Rookie of the Year honors on the Champions Tour, a first for a foreign-born player since South African John Bland in 1996. Became the first international player since David Graham (1997) to win three times in a single season on the Champions Tour and finished the year with a career-best (at the time) $1.4 million in official earnings, the most by a first-year player since Bob Gilder in 2001 ($1.68 million). Was unable to debut on the Champions Tour until the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am due to shingles, but made the most of his initial start on the Champions Tour. Became just the 11th player in Champions Tour history, and first since Bobby Wadkins (2001 Lightpath Long Island Classic), to win in his first start on the circuit. Best finish on tour was in 2005 when he finished 3rd on the money list with $1,791,452 in earnings and won twice.
Played for the International team in both the 1994 and '96 Presidents Cup, with a 3-4-2 record.
In 2011, made a nice return to the Champions Tour after a 10-month absence due to right knee-replacement surgery. Finished 32nd on the final money list in a year highlighted by his victory with teammate David Eger in Savannah at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
2012 Notes: Came into the season's final full-field event, the AT&T Championship, on the money-list bubble, but despite playing poorly at the San Antonio event (T50th), still managed to edge Tom Kite by $3,831 for the 30th and final position in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Posted a trio of top-10 finishes was two strokes back of Kirk Triplett at the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, his best effort in a stroke-play event since 2009. Worked his way onto the leaderboard in the final round at the Toshiba Classic before finishing 2-over par on his final nine holes, which led to a T5th finish.
2013 Notes: Failed to post a top-10 finish for the first time in his Champions Tour career when he played a full season playing 23 events and finished 48th on the final money list. Had five top-25 finishes for the year, with his best finish coming in April when he teamed with David Eger to finish T-12th at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf, an event they had won two years earlier. Served as a captain's assistant on Nick Price's Presidents Cup International team in September.
2014 Notes: Bounced back from a sub-par 2013 campaign by moving up a dozen spots on the money list, from 48th to 36th. Posted a pair of top-10 finishes and was among the top 20, eight times...Was on the leaderboard for the last 36 holes of the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship and carded a final-round 66 to move up into 5th place, his best Champions Tour showing since he was second at the 2010 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. After learning of the death of his longtime caddie, Rocky Hobday, the day before, grieved during the final round of the SAS Championship but still carded a 5-under 67 Sunday at Prestonwood CC to move into a T-5th.
2015 Notes: T-6th at the Insperity Invitational. Shot rounds of 68-69 on the weekend to move up. Had his second top-ten with a T-9th at the Senior PGA Championship. Was 56th on the money list and 46th in the Schwab rankings.
