One of eight professionals in his family, Diniz learned golf at Sao Paulo Golf Club through the influence of his grandfather, also a professional. . .He was a seven-time member of the World Cup Team Championship from 1980-88. . .Diniz made a successful debut on the PGA European Seniors Tour, winning the 2000 Daily Telegraph European Seniors Match Play Championship on the way to finishing sixth on the Order of Merit with ,74,498. . .The winner of nine PGA European Tour victories from 1977-1992. . .Diniz played regularly on the South Africa and South American circuit. . . Diniz had hoped to play on the PGA European Tour in 1985, but lost his passport during the World Cup at La Quinta, Calif., and was unable to attend the Qualifying School. . . .The designer of two nine-hole courses in Sao Paulo, along with his uncle. . .Studied law at the University of Sao Paulo, practicing from 1969 through 1976, just before he turned professional.
