Ryan Baca

Elected to take a redshirt following health issues in the fall...Named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the fall and spring.
Baca will return to the course where he played in the 2004 U.S. Amateur. He shot rounds of 74 and 81 at Winged Foot two years ago and failed to make the cut in the nation's most prestigious amateur event. He also qualified for the U.S. Amateur last summer, making thes U.S. Open Baca's third USGA national championship event in as many years.
He listed Winged Foot as one of his favorite courses in a newspaper story in April. Priest said the famed Winged Foot West course will likely offer Baca his steepest challenge of his golf career.
Baca, who completed his Baylor career at the NCAA West Regional in May, will likely turn pro during or after this summer. His performance at the U.S. Open is far from a make-or-break test, but it might be a measuring tool.
