Ryan Nelson

Competed in first U.S. Open in 2011 after attempting to qualify fifteen times. Birdied his first hole of the second round of competition, the tenth hole at Congressional, which he cites as his most memorable golf experience, but did not make the cut.
Named 2010 Adams Golf Tour Player of the year after 10 top-10 finishes and two wins, including at the Jamie Hilton's Hillcrest Children's Golf Classic and the Northeast Oklahoma Championship. Has won his only Adams Tour start in 2011 at the Coca-Cola Walmart Open presented by Million Air. Won 2009 Horseshoe Bay Resort Classic, also on the Adams Golf Tour.
Now plays on the eGolf Tour, most recently won tournament at Irish Creek in 2013. Also notched wins at Patriot Golf Club in 2012, and Woodside Plantation and Cabarros Country Club in 2011.
Didn't start playing golf tournaments until he was 15 years old. Was three-time All-conference WCC at University of Portland during his collegiate golf career. Best golf memory is playing with his father at his father's boyhood course when he was 12. He and his wife, Michelle, have two sons, one-month-old Brayden and 2-year-old Bryce, who will turn 3 during the U.S. Open competition this year.
