Shot 72-63 and tied for first at the Ibaraki, Japan, sectional, qualifying for his first U.S. Open.
Played on the Australasian Tour from 1995 to 1999 but quit playing after a water skiing accident saw him suffer a neck injury. Became a teaching professional in Singapore Island Country Club but got his big break in 2003 when he played in the Macau Open. Led after the second and third rounds but was caught by Scotland's Colin Montgomerie in the final round and then edged out in the play-off. Says his coach Gary Edwin has helped him improve as a player.
In 2004, achieved a career high when he qualified for the British Open after earning joint medalist honors at the International Final Qualifying in Malaysia.
In 2005, Scott enjoyed his career season to date. The Aussie had a great first half of the season with two solid outings, coming in second in the Okinawa Open and Thailand Open, where he lost in a play-off to Kiwi Richard Lee. Also tied for seventh in the Brunei Open and tied for ninth in the Mercuries Taiwan Masters. Shot an albatross in the Maekyung Open in Korea.
His 2006 was hit and miss. After enjoying his best season in Asia where he placed 11th on the Order of Merit in 2005, much was expected from the former teaching professional, however, he failed to find his best form early on before enjoying a T-9 finish at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in Korea. He then finished runner-up at the Macau Open for the second time in four years and ended the season in 50th place on the Order of Merit.
In 2007, he enjoyed another impressive season, registering six top-10s and three other top-20s to finish 21st on the Order of Merit. He tied for eighth and tied for fifth in the Singapore Masters and Motorola International Bintan, respectively, before hitting a purple patch in the second half of the year when he amassed a run of four top-10s over seven tournaments, contending in the Brunei Open and Midea China Classic before finishing third and fourth, respectively.
Enjoyed a strong first half of the 2008 season with a tied 11th and joint 12th finish in successive weeks at the Johnnie Walker Classic in India and Maybank Malaysian Open. Later tied for sixth in the Hana Bank Vietnam Masters at the end of the season to finish 32nd on the Order of Merit.
Has three top-five finishes in 2010. Fest finish came at the Iskandar Johor Open where he tied for fifth to secure his Asian Tour card for the eighth consecutive year. Finished the year 23rd on the money list with $149,324.
In 2009, his best finishes were T-5th at the Brunei Open and T-7th at the Macau Open.
Has played on the Asian and European tours in 2011.
