Stacey Keating

Born in Western Victoria to Ann and Neville Keating, sheep and crop farmers, Stacey was introduced to golf at age 12 through her grandmother, Lorna. While farm life presents many challenges, for Stacey it provided an opportunity to practice her passion at home. With the assistance of her parents, Stacey designed and built a six-hole golf course, including a bunker and a full-length driving range. Christened the ?Keating Family Golf Academy,? many hours have been spent honing her skills with most school mornings spent practicing in the paddock with the car lights on. To this day the Keating Family Golf Course provides a competitive venue for all the family to enjoy.
In 2004, Stacey completed her VCE at Trinity College in Colac. With the golf bug well and truly caught but at the age of 18, having still never received a golf lesson, with the support of her parents, Stacey moved to Melbourne. The move to Melbourne not only allowed her to pursue the expertise needed to take her game to the next level but also allowed Stacey to attain a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sport Science (golf specific) at the University of Victoria.
Won the 2006 Victorian Amateur. Also won the Queensland Strokeplay Championship and finished second in the Australian Amateur Championship.
In 2010, Stacey turned professional after the pre-qualifying stage of Ladies European Tour School for 2011.
2011 Notes: Her rookie year on the LET, recorded five top-10 finishes with a season-best tie for fifth at the Sanya Ladies Open in China. Also tied for sixth at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, tied for eighth at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open and UNIQA Ladies Golf Open and tied for 10th at the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open. Finished third on the Rolex Rookie of the Year Standings and 45th on the Money List with earnings of 52,704.02 from 21 events.
2012 Notes: Her second year on tour, Stacey had a breakthrough season collecting two titles on her way to finishing sixth on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit. A week after being disqualified from the Ricoh Women?s British Open at Royal Liverpool due to signing an incorrect scorecard (she had accidentally swapped two scores), she earned her first trophy at the Tenerife Open de España Femenino at Golf Las Américas. She closed with a 2-under-par 70 to come from a stroke behind Caroline Masson and tie on nine-under par. She then birdied the first extra hole in a sudden-death playoff. She backed up her victory at the next LET tournament two weeks later with a title at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France at Chantaco Golf Club in Aquitaine. Keating came from three shots behind overnight leader Diana Luna of Italy going into the final round and then had to wait behind the 18th green before Luna finished with a bogey, handing the title to Keating. Her two additional top 10s were a tie for fourth at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and a tie for fifth at the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters.
2013 Notes: Played in 16 tournaments again on the Ladies European Tour and added four top-10 finishes to her records, including a best-season third at the ISPS Handa New Zealand Women's Open. She ended the season ranked 25th on the Order of Merit.
Played four times on the LPGA Tour only making one cut, T28 at the Handa Women's Australian Open. At the end of the year, she got to the finals of the LPGA Q-School and finished T38, which gives her limited access to the tour.
2014 Notes: Her best finish on the LPGA Tour is T19 at the North Texas LPGA Shootout.
