Warren Bladon

Bladon, the winner of the 1996 Amateur Championship, conducted by The R&A, at Turnberry, made appearances, sparingly, on the European PGA and Challenge Tours from 1996 to 2008. To win the Amateur Championship, he drilled a 15-foot birdie for a 1-up victory against Roger Beames. The former Warwickshire Amateur champion in 1987 made six appearances on the European Tour, but just two after turning professional in 1997, missing the cut at The Open Championship 1997 and 2006. On the Challenge Tour, where Bladon played in 11 events, he managed some quality finishes in his last two starts, in 2008. At the Tusker Kenya Open, Bladon finished T-50th. He was also T-27th at the SWALEC Wales Challenge. In 2007, he notched a T-41st at the Challenge of Ireland presented by Glasson. His career-best finish on the Tour came at the 18th Open de Cote d?Ivoire, where Bladon finished T-10th. Bladon missed out on a 2006 European Tour exemption as a contestant on ?The Big Break IV.? Bladon also played in three Open Championships, the 1997 Masters, the Australian Masters and represented both England and Great Britain & Ireland. He finished 3rd at the Nigerian Open. Now, in addition to golfing, Bladon is a self-employed picture framer, and lives with his fiancée Caroline, and has two children, Ellen, 16, and Montgomery, nine months.
