Alexander Bjork

Bjork grew up in Vaxjo, a town in southern Sweden. He started to play golf at age five when his grandparents took him out of a short course in their town. He fell in love with the game and played almost every day, along with playing tennis.
He was a highly-promising tennis player in his youth, being ranked among Sweden's top 10 juniors before deciding that golf was his future. Bjork turned professional in 2009 and played in the Nordic Golf League before moving on to the Challenge Tour in 2014. Bjork became the first golfer to list himself through Trade in Sports, an exchange for athletes, funding the launch of his professional career by pledging 10% of winnings to investors. He was 71st on the order of merit in 2014 and then 40th in 2015. His big break came when he won the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in July 2016. Over the course of the year had 10 top-ten finishes, including a T-2nd at the Terre Dei Consoli Open, he ended the season ranked seventh on the 2016 Challenge Tour Order of Merit with earnings of euro135,006, securing a card for the 2017 European Tour.
In 2012, Bjork became the first golfer to list himself through Trade in Sports, an exchange for athletes, funding the launch of his professional career by pledging 10 percent of his winnings to investors.
2017 Notes: In his rookie season on the European Tour played in 30 events he made 24 cuts. He was in the top ten 3 times. He got his first Top-ten in his 5th European Tour start when he finished T-7th at the South African Open. He followed that up six weeks later with a 5th at the Tshwane Open, then topped it off with a T-3rd at the French Open, which gave him his invite to play in the Open Championship. Finished 43rd in the Race to Dubai.
2018 Notes: Played in 28 European Tour events making 22 cuts with six top-ten finishes. Was 19th in the Race to Dubai. He started his year T-2nd at the UBS Hong Kong Open he was 1 back of winner Wade Ormsby. He had a T-6th at the Dubai Desert Classic and a T-3rd at the Trophee Hassan II before winning his first European Tour win at the Volvo China Open. Bjork shot a final round 65 to beat Adrian Otaegui by a shot. The win elevated him from 112th in the world rankings to 73rd, opening up more doors for getting to play for the first time in America at the WGC-Bridgestone, where he finished T-48th, and then the PGA Championship, where he missed the cut. On the European Tour, he finished T-8th at the French Open and then 2nd in the Sky Sports British Masters. He ended his year with a T-12th finish at the DP World Tour Championship Dubai.
2019 Notes: Played in 21 European Tour events making 15 cuts with one top-ten finish. He was 98th in the Race to Dubai. He was T-9th at the Trophee Hassan II. He also played in the WGC-Mexico Championship, finishing T-39th.
2020 Notes: Played in 18 European Tour events making 11 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 80th in the Race to Dubai. Was 6th in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Finished T-3rd at the Hero Open, for shots back of winner Sam Horsfield. Ended his season with a T-73rd finish at the Golf in Dubai Championship presented by DP World.
2021 Notes: Played in 23 European Tour events making 18 cuts with four top-ten finishes. Finished 12th in the Race to Dubai, earning euro1,275,593. He was T-6th at the Made in Himmerland and T-7th at the Scandinavian Mixed. At the Andalucia Masters, was T-4th, four shots back of winner Matt Fitzpatrick. Saved the best for his last event of the season, he was T-2nd at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, three shots back of winner Collin Morikawa.
2022 Notes: Played in 21 DP World Tour events making 15 cuts with one top-ten finish. He was 78th in the Race to Dubai with earnings of euro478,845. Best finish, T-7th at the Dutch Open, five shots back of winner Victor Perez. Ended his season with a T-32nd finish at the Andalucia Masters.
2023 Notes: Was T-2d at the Ras AI Khaimah Championship, one shot back of winner Daniel Gavins. Was 4th at the Italian Open and the Soudal Open. On a streak of finishing in the top ten in four events in a row, T-6th at the Porsche European Open, T-9th at the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed, T-8th at the Betfriend British Open, and T-4th a the Made In Himmerland.
