Geoff Ogilvy

Given a set of cut-down clubs by his father at age 7, Ogilvy progressed to a scratch handicap by 16. Played on the Australian Tour in 1999 and was named Rookie of the Year.
Broke onto the global stage at the beginning of 2006 with a victory at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, defeating Davis Love III in the final at La Costa. He earned his U.S. Open victory just four months later. Continued to write his name in the history books by winning the 2008 WGC-CA Championship and then the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship for a second time in 2009, defeating Paul Casey in the final and helping him finish 6th in the inaugural Race to Dubai.
Played on the 2007, 2009 and 2011 Presidents Cup Teams.
2010 Notes: Successfully defended his title at the SBS Championship and played in the Tour Championship for the fourth time in five years. Finished 14th in final FedExCup standings. Late in the year, won the Australian Open.
2011 Notes: Recorded nine top-25 finishes out of 14 made cuts. Unable to defend Hyundai Tournament of Champions crown due to a slice on his right index finger that required 12 stitches. Played all four PGA Tour Playoff events for the fifth straight year, finishing 24th in the final ranking. Went 3-1-1 in a losing cause for the International team at the Presidents Cup at his home club,
2012 Notes: Finished 71st on the money list and 70th in the FedExCup rankings. Recorded just one top 10, a T9th at the Open Championship. It was the first time he did not have multiple top 10s since joining the PGA Tour in 2001. Added a T-4th late in the year at the Australian PGA Championship, five shots behind winner Daniel Popovic.
2013 Notes: Made the cut in nine of 19 starts, with a runner-up finish at the Honda Classic his lone top-10 showing. Season ended at The Barclays, finishing 104th in the FedExCup standings and 93rd on the money list. Had advanced at least to the 70-player BMW Championship field the previous six seasons. Ended the year in his native Australia, where he fashioned a 67-69 weekend at the Talisker Masters to finish T-7th at Royal Melbourne GC. The next week, finished T-27th at the Emirates Australian Open.
2014 Notes: In his first 20 events going into the Barracuda Championship, his best finish was T-11th at the Valero Texas Open, one of only two top-25 results for the year. Thanks to a strong back nine at the Barracuda, in which he finished eagle-birdie-par-par-par-birdie, he won the event which secured a last-minute invite to the PGA Championship. In the FedExCup Playoffs got a bit of good luck. He missed the cut at The Barclays, but was on the number, 100, to play in the Deutsche Bank, where he finished T-2nd. That got him to the final two events, where he finished T-36th at the BMW Championship and 29th at the Tour Championship. Finished the year 29th in the FedExCup rankings and 54th on the money list.
2015 Notes: Had his first and only top-ten of the year at the Wells Fargo, finishing T-7th. His next best finish is T-18th at the U.S. Open. In 15 starts made the cut 10 times, finishing 154th in the FedExCup race and 139th on the money list. Ended the year T-8th at the Australian Open.
