Grant Forrest

Playing out of Craigielaw Golf Club was crowned the 2010 Scottish Boys Golf Champion after he beat fellow-Scottish Boys Internationalist Ian Redford of the New Club St. Andrews by 3&2 in the 36 holes final at West Kilbride Golf Club, Ayrshire. Represented Great Britain and Ireland in the 2010 Jacques Leglise Trophy against Europe
Won the 2012 Scottish Amateur Championship at Royal Dornoch. The victory was a bit sad as he lost his father Graeme to cancer three weeks before the victory. He secured his third national title with a strong 9&7 triumph in the 36-hole final against Richard Docherty in the 85th staging of the Scottish Amateur Championship. It was the biggest win in the final since Colin Montgomerie's victory at Nairin 25 years before. After a superb six days on the glorious Dornoch Firth, Forrest came out on top from a starting field of 256, representing more than 130 clubs, and triumphed over eight matches spanning nine rounds. Following his success in the Scottish Under-16s in 2009 and the Scottish Boys a year later, he has achieved a notable hat-trick.
He qualified for the Open Championship at Muirfield, where he played with former winner Mark O'Meara in the opening two rounds, in 2013, the same year he helped Europe win the Palmer Cup, the college equivalent of the Ryder Cup. During a spell at the University of San Diego, Forrest won four times, including the Redhawk Invitational at 2015 US Open venue Chambers Bay, where he shot sensational rounds of 63 and 65. In 2015, he won the St Andrews Links Trophy and also reached the final of the Amateur Championship at Carnoustie, defeated by Fransman Romain Langasque in the finals. These performances helped secure his place on the Great Britain & Ireland team that hammered the United States 16.5-9.5 at Royal Lytham. Forrest was also in the Scotland side that won the European Team Championship in Sweden last year and helped them retain the title in France in July. His swansong in the amateur game was also wearing Scotland colors as part of the three-man team that competed in the Eisenhower Trophy in Mexico in September.
Did go to college in America, attended the University of San Diego and got a degree in accounting.
After turning professional in 2016 played in some Challenge Tour events, didn't have much success and also didn't qualify for the European Tour.
2017 Notes: Played in 17 Challenge Tour events making 12 cuts. Had 3 top-ten finishes including a T-2nd at the Hainan Open finishing 2 shots back of winner Erik Van Rooyen. Was 34th in the Order of merit which means he will spilt his time between the European Tour and Challenge tour in 2018.
2018 Notes: On the Challenge Tour had a pair of runner-up finishes at the Costa Del Sol Match Play 9 and Hauts de France Golf Open.
