James Heath

Heath was born in London. He started playing golf with his father at the age of ten. Having played in the Faldo Junior Series, he went on to a successful amateur career, highlighted by winning the English Amateur Championship and the Lytham Trophy in 2004. He turned professional at the end of that year.
Having played in three tournaments on the European tour as an amateur in 2004, Heath joined the Challenge Tour in 2005, and was moderately successful in his first season, finishing 23rd on the end of season rankings. Having failed to come through qualifying school at the end of the year, he was again playing on the Challenge Tour in 2006. He enjoyed even more success, winning his first professional title at the ECCO Tour Championship in Denmark on his way to 14th in the Challenge Tour Rankings and graduation to the European Tour for 2007.
His first year on the European Tour didn't work out as in 31 events he only made 11 cuts. He had two top-10s, his best finish was T-4th at the TCL Classic, he only earned euro150,759 and was 152nd on the money list.
Spent the next 6 years in limbo, he played full time on the Challenge Tour in 2008, '09, '11, '12, '13 & '15 but never finished better than 47th in the order of merit. At the end of 2013 he won the Second Qualifying Stage at Las Colinas before claiming the 12th card at the Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort to secure a return to The European Tour in 2014 for the first time since 2007.
2014 Notes: Played in 23 events and made the cut in 13. Had one top-10, T-9th at the Czech Masters but finished way down the Race to Dubai list at 151st. Went back to Q-School but didn't regain his card.
2015 Notes: Played in 16 events on the Challenge Tour making 11 cuts. Had two top-10s, T-4th at the Swis Challenge and M2M Russian Open. Was 47th in the order of merit.
