Roger Chapman

In 2012, he made history by becoming the first Englishman to win the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, earning a two-stroke victory over John Cook at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor, Mich. Barely two months later, he returned to Michigan to capture the U.S. Senior Open title at Indianwood in Lake Orion, becoming the first Englishman to win a USGA event since Tony Jacklin in the 1970 U.S. Open. He became only the fourth player after Gary Player (1987), Jack Nicklaus (1991), and Hale Irwin (1998) to collect the "senior major double" in the same season. Those were his maiden PGA Tour Champions titles after multiple runner-up finishes.
On the European Senior Tour in 2011, Chapman was runner-up in the Mauritius Commercial Bank Open and joint runner-up in the Travis Perkins Senior Masters. He also posted two top-10 finishes to end the 2011 season in 11th position on the Order of Merit.
After working as a Tour Rules Official in 2007 and 2008, he joined the Senior Tour in 2009. He began by leading the Son Gual Mallorca Senior Open and Irish Seniors Open in association with Failte Ireland and AIB Bank. He went into the final round before finishing third and tying for third. He had a hole-in-one on his Senior Major Championship debut and just missed out on the Rookie of the Year award when Mike Harwood won the season's final event.
He won his maiden European Tour title on his 472nd start, defeating Padraig Harrington at the second hole of a playoff for the 2000 Brazil Rio de Janeiro 500 Years Open. A six-time runner-up on the European Tour before winning in Brazil, he went into the winner's circle late in 2000, capturing the Hassan II Trophy in Morocco. He reached 600 European Tour appearances in the 2005 Jazztel Open de Espana en Andalucia.
When he turned professional in 1981, it was with an impressive amateur pedigree, including an English Amateur Championship and a Walker Cup appearance for Great Britain and Ireland in 1981, when he beat 1980 U.S. Amateur champion and future major champion Hal Sutton twice in one day at Cypress Point.
2009 European Seniors Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 13; top-10 finishes - six; Euro97, 663 (ranked 12th); Best finish - third at the Son Gual Mallorca Senior Open.

2013 Notes: After becoming the biggest surprise story on the PGA Tour Champions, he went from being a conditionally exempt player to fully exempt through 2014. He took advantage of that status by playing in 25 of the Champions Tour's 26 2013 events, posting one top 10, a T-10th at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, and he finished the year 50th on the money list.
In 2014, he had one top-10, T-sixth at the Encompass Championship.

2014 Notes: After finishing 50th on the money list in 2013, bounced back with a much-improved season. He made a late run for a spot in the top 30 but fell short, finishing 34th on the money list and 49th in the Schwab Rankings. He got as high as 32nd with two full-field events remaining after a T-third at the Nature Valley First Tee Open, his best finish of the year and best Champions Tour effort since winning the 2012 U.S. Senior Open.
2015 Notes: Finished T-fifth with partner Russ Cochran at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf in April. A month later, he finished T-13th at the Senior PGA Championship. They finished 53rd on the money list and 74th in the Schwab rankings.

He rebounded from an opening-round 2-over-par 74 at the Mitsubishi Electric Classic with rounds of 66-69 on the weekend to finish T-9th. He played in 13 events finishing 59th on both the money list and Schwab ranking. He played in 7 events on the European Senior Tour with one top-ten, T-6th at the Travis Perkins Masters. Won euro48,119 and was 33rd on the order of merit.

Also was 5th in the Sharjah Senior Golf Masters. He finished the year 13th on the Staysure Tour Order of Merit with Euro110,338.
2018 Notes: Only played three times on the PGA Tour Champions; best was T-21st at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf with partner David Frost. On the Staysure Tour, played in 11 events and won for the first time since 2012 at the MCB Tour Championship - Seychelles. He ended the year 17th on the Staysure Tour Order of Merit with Euro137,987. On May 21st (the Monday of the Senior PGA Championship) had surgery to treat an impingement in his right shoulder.
2019 Notes: Played only four times, finishing T-7th with partner David Frost at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf. Missed the cut at the Senior PGA Championship, was T-33rd at the U.S. Senior Open, and was T-10th at the Senior Open Championship. He played more on the Legends Tour.
