Scott Strange

Scott is an Australian professional golfer who competes on the Japan Golf Tour, European Tour, OneAsia Tour and the Asian Tour. Prior to turning Professional, Strange frequently represented the Western Australia amateur team in Australian Golf Union (now Golf Australia) events.
Scott is a two-time winner on the Asian Tour following victories in the 2005 Myanmar Open and 2006 Philippine Open which helped him finish in the top-20 of the Order of Merit. In 2007, he enjoyed another steady season by placing 22nd on the rankings following one top-10 and six other top-20s. Scott also enjoyed some measure of success in Europe where he secured his Tour card for 2008 after placing 106th on the money list. One of the main highlights was finishing 10th in the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland and winning the pro-am team event. In 2006, Scott claimed his second title in the region when he coasted to a five-stroke victory in the Philippine Open at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club. Prior to his triumph, the Aussie finished top-10 in the Okinawa Open, Enjoy Jakarta HSBC Indonesia Open and Aamby Valley Asian Masters in India. Claimed his second top-10 result at the Hero Honda Indian Open. Led at the halfway stage of the Barclays Singapore Open with Ernie Els before a back injury saw him settle for tied 12th place. In 2005, he broke through in a big way at the Myanmar Open, beating title holder Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand in the final round with a closing 67. He went on to contend at the Thai Airways International Thailand Open in the following week before finishing tied third. During the final round in Blue Canyon in Phuket, Scott called on a rule infringement on himself when his ball moved during his putting stroke and it proved decisive as he finished one shot outside the play-off.
A strong finish over the back nine of the Beijing CBD International Golf Club in April 2009 helped him claim his second European Tour success in the Volvo China Open, holding off Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano by a shot. That helped him qualify for the new-look Volvo World Match Play Championship where he just missed out on a semi-final spot, despite defeating both Paul Casey and Anthony Kim in the group stage. His success followed on from his dominance of The 2008 Celtic Manor Wales Open which was, for the first time, played over The Twenty Ten Course ? the golf course specifically designed to host The 2010 Ryder Cup ? where he finished four shots clear of the field for a wire-to-wire victory. Had six other top 20 finishes in 2008 to make it his best season to date, finishing 32nd on the Order of Merit.
2009 Notes: A good year on the European Tour, in 28 events he made the cut in 17 times and was in the top-ten, five times. Won the Volvo China Open and went on to win euro727,481 which placed 41st on the order of merit. Ended the year finishing T-12th at the Australian Open and then T-2nd at the Australian PGA Championship.
2010 Notes: Performance weaken on the European TOur, played in 22 events making ten cuts. Best finish T-30th at the Castello Masters, he finished 148th in the order of merit.
2011 Notes: Another rough season on the European Tour, in 25 events made 11 cuts. Best finish was T-4th at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, he finished 125th in the order of merit.
2012 Notes: Would be his last year on the European Tour, played 14 events and only made five cuts. Best finish was T-29th at the Volvo China Open, he finished 188 in the order of merit.
2013 Notes: Played on the Australian Tour, One Asian and Japan Tour. Had a 2nd at the New Zealand PGA Championship and at the Thailand Open. On the One Asian Tour had a T-4th at the Nanshan China Masters. and T-7th at the Indonesia PGA Championship. On the Japan Tour had a T-7th at the Japan Open.
2014 Notes: Focused his efforts on the Japan Tour were in 19 events made the cut in 12 of them. His best finish was T-8th at the Sega Sammy Cup and T-9th at the Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup. For the year earned ¥15,757,180 ($132,424) which placed 63 on the money list. At the end of the year finished T-7th at the Australian PGA Championship.
In 2015 played his first four events on the Australian Tour, was runner-up at the Mercedes-Benz Truck Victorian PGA Championship.
