Terry Pilkadaris

Says his wife Monique, who is a psychologist, has helped him with his mental approach. Monique previously caddied for him regularly and was on the bag when he won in Sanya after a playoff against Clay Devers in Brunei. Rated as one of the hardest working players on the Asian Tour. Started working with swing coach Steve Bann, who also coached Stuart Appleby and Choi Kyung-ju, in 2006.

After the heartbreaks of missing out his full playing privileges in 2002 and 2003 by the narrowest of margins, the Australian broke through in a big way when he won back-to-back titles at the Crowne Plaza Open and Sanya Open in China in 2004. Also finished fourth in the Kolon Korean Open and was runner-up in the Taiwan Open and Volvo Masters of Asia, where he lost in a play-off to Jyoti Randhawa to finish a career high fifth on the Order of Merit. He maintained his terrific form in 2005 with victory at the inaugural Brunei Open in June and registered five other top-20s including a third place finish at the Taiwan Open, fifth in the Hero Honda Indian Open and 13th in the Volvo Masters of Asia. Finished fifth for the second straight year on the Order of Merit. In 2006, enjoyed a strong first half of the season, posting four top-10s that included two top-five outings. Finished third at the inaugural Aamby Valley Asian Masters and fifth in the Macau Open. Was in the running for a successful title defence at the Brunei Open as he was the joint third round leader but stumbled on the final day to finish in the top-20. In 2007, enjoyed a career high when he qualified for his first British Open through qualifying in South Africa. Also finished top-10 in the Singapore Masters and Mercuries Taiwan Masters. In 2008, enjoyed a strong second half of the season where he was T5th in the Brunei Open, second in the Midea China Classic and third in the Volvo Masters of Asia in Bangkok. He challenged Noh Seung-Yul all the way in China and was also in the running for the title in Bangkok. Qualified for his second British Open through qualifying in 2009.
