Carolyn Hill

Hill started playing golf at the age of 7 under the guidance of her father. At the age of 14, Hill was the medalist in the California State Amateur and the following year was the medalist at the 1974 U.S. Girls' Junior. She was an All-American twice: in 1977 at the University of Miami and in 1979 at the University of Tulsa. A member of the USA Curtis Cup Team in 1978, she culminated her amateur career by winning the 1979 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, defeating future LPGA Hall of Famer Patty Sheehan, 7 and 6.
Played full time on the LPGA Tour between 1980 and 1999. She played in 444 events, making 261 cuts with 26 Top-10 finishes. Hill won once at the 1994 McCall's Classic at Stratton Mt. 1994 was Hill's best year on the LPGA she won $120,060 which placed her 46th on the money list.
Hill was a member of the LPGA Tour Executive Committee from 1996-98.
After retiring from playing on the LPGA Tour in 2000, she went to St. Petersburg and raised her son Ryan. She dabbled in many interesting fields from working for a sales and marketing company, mortgage broker, assistant college golf coach and condo flipper. In additional education from Titleist Performance Institute & US Kids Golf, joined the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional organization, golf and fitness programs and instruction for juniors and adults. Hill competed in several tournaments on the Legends Tour through the LPGA Tournament and Club Professional division.

Hill shot 79-78-74-81=312 (+20) to finish T42 in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open.
