Cheyenne Woods

Started playing the game of golf around age 6 and credits her grandfather, Earl Woods, and uncle, Tiger Woods, for introducing her to the sport. Says her most memorable golf experience is when she captured her first win earlier this year at the Volvik RACV Australian Masters.
Graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in communications. Finished her career at WFU with the lowest single-season (73.47) and lowest career scoring average (74.31) in school history. She finished more tournaments under par than any other player in school history. Was a two-time All-American and a three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honoree. In 2012, her best finish was a tie for seventh at the ACC Championships. In the fall of 2011, she became just the third Demon Deacon to shoot three straight rounds under par at the same tournament (Lady Tar Heel). Was stroke-play medalist at the 2011 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, and advanced to the quarterfinals; her 8-and-7 victory in the third round is tied for the second-largest winning margin in an 18-hole match. In 2011, Earned NGCA honorable mention All-America honors in 2010 and 2011. Earned Golfweek third-team honors. Won the 2011 ACC championship with a dominating performance (seven-shot victory). In 2010, she teamed with Michelle Shin to win the inaugural Hooters Women's Team Championship. Earned Golfweek third-team All-America honors at the end of her junior year. She won her first collegiate event at the Bryan National Collegiate in the spring of 2010. Won two straight ACC championships with Wake Forest in 2010 and 2009. She played in her first professional tournament in summer of 2009 at the Wegmans LPGA Championship. Advanced to match play at the TRANS National Amateur and would end up being a semifinalist. Played in the 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur and made it to the round of 64. In 2008, she reached match play at the North & South Amateur, where she made it to the Round of 16. Won the 2008 Bill Dickey Invitational; she was the runner-up in 2007. Has won more than 30 amateur titles, including the Big I Junior Classic and the AJGA Nike Golf Junior. A four-time letterman at Xavier College Prep and was named the most valuable player three times by her high school golf teammates. She won back-to-back Arizona 5A State Championships in 2006 and 2007 and never finished lower than fifth in the state championship. Was a two-time regional champion in Arizona and was named the 2007 Arizona High School Golfer of the Year by the Arizona Republic.
In 2012, Woods turned professional and qualified for the 2012 U.S. Women's Open by finishing as co-medalist at her qualifier. She had her first professional win on the SunCoast Ladies Series in late August 2012.
2013 Notes: Cheyenne played her rookie year on the LET. She played in 11 tournaments and made eight cuts including three top-20 finishes, with her best result T-12th at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco. She finished 78th on the Order of Merit.
2014 Notes: She earned her first LET title early in the season at the 2014 VOLVIC RACV Ladies Masters at Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, Australia. She played in nine LET events and was 26th in the order of merit with $61,998.
2015 Notes: Played on the Symetra Tour in 17 events made eight cuts, best finish T-24th at the JTBC Founders Cup. Was 125th on the money list with $32,713. Finished T-13th at the 2015 Final Qualifying Tournament to earn LPGA membership for the 2016 season. Played in four LET tournaments and her best finish was T-2nd at the Hero Women's Indian Open.
2016 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA events, making 10 cuts. Had her career LPGA best finish at the Cambia Portland Classic under weird circumstances. The day before the Portland Classic, Woods was involved in a car accident in which her rental car was rear-ended by another car. Woods suffered from headaches but finished T-6th. Ended the year 96th on the money list with $106,005 and 96th in CME points. Played in six LET tournaments and secured two top-15 finishes, T-12th at the Ladies Scottish Open and T-10th at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. She was 49th on the LET order of merit with $32,733.
2017 Notes: Played in 21 events, making nine cuts. Had two top-15 finishes including a season-best T-8th at McKayson New Zealand Women's Open.
2018 Notes: Has made 10 LPGA starts, making six cuts. Her best finish in the start of the season came on the LET where she finished 8th at the Oates Vic Open. On the LPGA, T-46th at the Volunteers of America LPGA Texas Classic.
In her spare time, she likes to do anything outdoors. For her 21st birthday, she went skydiving. Also enjoys hiking, playing ping pong and spending time with her family. Recorded her first hole-in-one when she was 9 years old at the Arizona Junior Golf Association Christmas Classic with a driver. Has had five more hole-in-ones since.
