Hollis Stacy

Stacy became a golfer after attending the 1966 Masters. She played golf not far from her family home in Savannah, Ga. Her game blossomed in her teens, and beginning in 1969, Stacy won the U.S. Girls' Junior three consecutive times, the first player to accomplish this feat, in 1969, 1970, and 1971. In 1970, she won the North and South Women's Amateur at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club and played for the 1972 United States Curtis Cup team. She attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. and became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1974.
Stacy played full-time on the LPGA Tour between 1974 and 2000. She played in 636 events making 532 cuts. She was in the top-ten 145 times (23% of her starts) and won 18 times. Stacy's best year on tour was in 1982, she won 3 times (Whirlpool Championship, S&H Golf Classic & West Virginia LPGA Classic), was runner-up twice and was in the top-ten 11 times. During this time she made $161,361 and was 8th on the money list.
Stacy won four major championships during her career: the U.S. Women's Open in 1977, 1978, and 1984, and the 1983 Peter Jackson Classic (later known as the du Maurier Classic). She has 18 LPGA wins; her last win came in 1991 at the Crestar-Farm Fresh Classic.
Stacy is a member of the U.S. Girls' Junior committee, as her mother once was and ran the local qualifier for years near her home in Lakewood, Colo. Stacy also has tried her hand as a course architect, designing Blackhawk Golf Club in central Texas, and is on the advisory board at EC4 Technologies, a security-credentials company.
She also finds time to raise funds for Project Angel Heart, a Denver-based organization that serves meals to shut-ins with life-threatening diseases.
Stacy was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in the veterans category in 2012.
Stacy has played in over 35 Legends events winning the 2001 Copp's Great Lakes Classic. She was T-14 in the 2016 Legends Championship and 30th at 2017 Senior LPGA Championship. In 2018, she finished T-67 at the Senior LPGA Championship and T-11 at the Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cup in Washington.

Stacy shot 77-76-77-76=306 (+14) to finish T-28 in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open.
