Jane Geddes

Growing up on Long Island as a self-described tomboy, Geddes played an array of sports. When she was 15, in 1975, her family moved to Summerville, S.C. Mostly to stave off boredom, she tried golf. Within three years she was good enough to walk on to the golf team at Florida State. Within six years she'd earned her LPGA tour card. Less than a decade after picking up a club for the first time, she won the 1986 U.S. Women's Open, her first pro victory.
Geddes played college golf at Florida State University and was a member of the school's national championship team in 1981. After graduating from Florida State, she turned pro and finished T7 at the August LPGA Qualifying tournament to gain a Tour card for the rest of 1983.
Geddes played full time on Tour between 1983 and 2003, playing in 483 events and making 396 cuts. She was in the Top 10 119 times (25% of starts) and won 11 times. In her career, she won $3,821,330. Her best year was 1987, when she won five times including a major at the Mazda LPGA Championship. She won $396,819 that year and was second on the money list. Geddes played in the 1996 Solheim Cup and had a 1-2-1 record. She also was the assistant captain at the 2003 Solheim Cup. In her 20 years on tour, she finished in the top-20 of the money list nine times and was voted one of the 50 best players in LPGA history. She retired in her early 40s.
Living in San Diego at the height of the first tech boom in the late 1990s, Geddes and tennis star Gigi Fernandez started an e-commerce portal, Planesia. But when the funding ran out in 2000, the business died. They moved to Florida, where both continued their educations; Fernandez got an MBA from Rollins, in Winter Park, Geddes a J.D. (Juris Doctor) from Stetson Law School, in DeLand. After graduating from law school in 2006, Geddes took a full-time job working for the LPGA in Daytona Beach. She was the vice president of competition and then junior VP of tournament operations. She was part of the team that persuaded the IOC to accept golf as an Olympic sport. At the same time in 2008, Fernandez became pregnant and they had twins.
In 2011, Geddes was contacted by the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and offered a job as VP for talent relations and development. She took the job and moved with Fernandez and the twins to Connecticut. She worked for the WWE until 2014 and at the end of 2016, she took the executive director job for the International Association of Golf Administrators. In 2017, she was appointed as CEO of the LPGA Women Who Play, formerly the EWGA, which is the largest women-focused amateur golf association in the United States. S finished T49th in the 2018 Senior LPGA Championship.

Geddes shot 80-78-84-75=317 (+25) to finish 51st in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open.
