Laura Diaz

Started playing golf at age 9 and credits her father, Ron Philo Sr., and brother, Ron Philo Jr., for most influencing her career. Qualified for the Tour on her second attempt. Won the 1995 North & South Women's Amateur Championship and 1996 Eastern Championship. In addition, made it to the quarterfinals of the 1996 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. Played collegiate golf at Wake Forest University, where she was the 1995 Atlantic Coast Conference champion, a first-team All-American selection from 1996-97 and 1997 Female Athlete of the Year.
Between 1997 and 1998, won three times on the Futures Tour.
In 1998, named Rookie of the Year on the Women Professional Golfers' European Tour (WPGET). Qualified for the LPGA Tour at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she tied for 20th to earn exempt status for the 1999 LPGA season.
In 1999, best finish was a tie for sixth at the Michelob Light Classic.
In 2000, top finish was a tie for third at the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic.
In 2001, best finish was a tie for second at the Welch's/Circle K Championship. Recorded the first hole-in-one of her LPGA career during the third round of the Cup Noodles Hawaiian Ladies Open. Crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings after tying for third at the Weetabix Women's British Open.
In 2002, enjoyed her best season on Tour with 10 top-10 finishes and wins at both the Welch's/Circle K Championship and the LPGA Corning Classic. Was a member of the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup Team, for which she posted a 3-1 record.
In 2003, best finish was at the Asahi Ryokuken International Championship at Mount Vintage, where she tied for third. Was a member of the U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
In 2004, recovered from off-season ankle surgery to post seven top-10 finishes, including a season-best runner-up finish at The Mitchell Company Tournament of Champions.
In 2005, recorded best finish at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where she tied for third and crossed the $3 million mark in career earnings. Became the second player (Tammie Green, 1998) to compete for the U.S. Solheim Cup Team while pregnant and scored one point for the victorious U.S. Team when she defeated Iben Tinning, 6 and 5, in the Sunday singles matches.
In 2006, best finish was a tie for fifth at the LPGA Corning Classic. Gave birth to son Robert Cooper and competed in her first event exactly two months later at the Safeway International Presented by Coca-Cola.
In 2007, best finish was a tie for third at both the Safeway International presented by Coca-Cola and the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. Crossed the $4 million mark in career earnings with a tie for fourth at the CN Canadian Women's Open. Posted a 1-1-1 record in her fourth appearance on the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
In 2008, best finish was a tie for second at the SBS Open at Turtle Bay and recorded an additional five top-10 finishes. Carded three eagles during the second round of the RICOH Women's British Open - one of only four players in LPGA history to do so.
In 2009, best finish was a tie for 26th at the SBS Open at Turtle Bay, also finished tied for 26th at the Honda LPGA Thailand and HSBC Women's Champions.
In 2010, tied for fifth at the LPGA Tour Championship.
In 2011, best finish was a tie for 38th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.
In 2012, best finish was a tie for 39th at the Navistar LPGA Classic but missed a lot of time because of a wrist injury that required surgery.
2013 Notes: Played in 18 events and made seven cuts. Best finish was T32 at the Kingsmill Championship. She earned $40,311 and placed 105th on the Tour money list. Served as an assistant captain on the U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
2014 Notes: Was 75th on the money list and 72nd in CME points. She made 16 cuts in 23 starts with a best finish of T-9th at the Portland Classic. At the Kia Classic, Diaz became the second player in LPGA history to make two holes-in-one in the same tournament. Diaz aced the par-3 third hole Saturday in the third round, then holed out on the par-3 sixth on Sunday. Jenny Lidback is the only other player with two aces in an event, doing so in the 1997 Tournament of Champions. After Diaz made her hole-in-one on #6 Sunday, she followed with an eagle on the par-4 seventh, holing out from 122 yards. She's believed to be the first Tour player to follow an ace with an eagle on the next hole.
In 2015 had a rough start of her year missing 8 cuts before finishing T-51st at the ShopRite Classic.
