Marissa Steen

Marissa Steen started playing golf around age 13. A standout performer at Lakota West High School in suburban Cincinnati. Throughout her career, she achieved honors of First-Team All-Conference, All-District, All-City, and Second-Team All-State honors. Helped lead her high school team to the 2006 State Championship. Carried a 4.1 GPA throughout high school and was the recipient of the J. Kyle Braid Leadership Foundation Award.
Was a winner of the Ohio Junior Girls' and the 2011 Cincinnati Women's Metropolitan Championship. Also competed twice in the U.S. Women's Amateur (2008 and 2010).
Committed to the University of Memphis to play her college golf. Currently still holds the single-season scoring record of 73.97 strokes per round in the 2010-11 season. Was a four-time NGCA All-American Scholar and three-time Conference USA All-Academic Team selection. Named to the 2010 All-Conference USA second-team and was named C-USA Golfer of the Week five times. In 2011, was named to the C-USA All-Tournament Team after being the C-USA Championship runner-up. Was the 2012 Conference USA Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Won six individual tournaments throughout her Tiger career; one as a sophomore and two in each of her junior and senior seasons.
Turned pro in 2012 and played on the Symetra Tour. Made nine cuts out of 13 events and finished 34th on the money list. Had two top-10 finishes, including a runner-up at the Ladies Titan Tire Challenge, where she carded scores of 70-69-73. Made it to the final stage of LPGA Tour Q-School but missed the cut.
2013 Notes: Played in 15 Symetra Tour, making 3 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. Best was T-2nd a the Four Winds Invitational, this came a week after finishing T-3rd at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic. Was 16th on the money list with $28,642.
2014 Notes: Played in 16 Symetra Tour events making 13 cuts, and had 10 top-ten finishes. Won 3 times at the Guardian Retirement Championship, Friends of Mission Charity Classic, and Eagle Classic. Was runner-up at the Visit Mesa Gateway Classic.
2015 Notes: Played in 18 LPGA events, making just 4 cuts. Best finish was T-33rd at the ShopRite Classic. She was 138th on the money list with $20,258.
2016 Notes: Back on the Symetra Tour, she played in 20 events making the cut in 19 of them. Had 8 top-10s, with her best finish a 2nd at the W.B. Mason Championship. Was 8th on the Symetra money list with $72,496 and earned a return to the LPGA for 2017.
2017 Notes. Played in 23 LPGA events making 12 cuts. Best Finish, T-30th at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. Earned $91,223, which was 105th on the money list.
2018 Notes: Was T-77th at the Pure-Silk-Bahamas LPGA and then missed the cut at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. While playing in Australia, Steen injured her left ankle and opted for surgery in April to repair tendon damage. She spent the rest of the year rehabbing the injury.
2019 Notes: Played in 20 LPGA Tour events making 10 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 115th on the money list with $89,416 in earnings. She finished T-27th in her first event back at the ISPS Handa Vic Open. Her next start was at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, the event she hurt her ankle in she was T-8th. That would be her best start of the year.
2020 Notes: Played in 6 LPGA Tour events making two cuts, best finish T-24th at the LPGA Drive On Championship Reynolds Lake Oconee. Played in 8 Symetra Tour events making 7 cuts, best finish T-11th at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship.
2021 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA events making seven cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 90th on the CME Points list and 85th on the money list with $197,111 in earnings. Her best finish came in her season's first event on the LPGA Tour at the Gainbridge LPGA, finishing T-8th. Shot a final round 64 at Carnoustie to finish T-10th at the AIG Women's Open. Ended her season missing the cut at the Pelican Womens Championship.
2022 Notes: She advanced to the U.S. Womenâ??s Open by finishing 2nd at the Pittsburgh qualifier and had her best finish of the year, T-34th at Pine Needles.
She began supporting the Lupus Foundation of America after her mother was diagnosed with Lupus in 2012
