Morgane Metraux

Morgane Metraux speaks three languages fluently. Morgane started playing golf at age ten, together with her sister (Kim Metraux, who is also a LET member) and her parents. The family started together in order to have an activity to play during weekends and holidays. From age six, Morgane's main focus outside of school was playing the piano, and golf came second. However, when she was 15, Morgane played in her first international event at the Junior Open, made the cut, and absolutely loved it. She then decided to become part of the Swiss National Team and achieved the goal by the end of the year. The next year, she decided to focus on golf and passed her final exam in piano.
With the National Team, Morgane played in a European Girls' Team Championship (2013) and three European Ladies' Team Championships (2014/'15/'16), during which time the team won a silver (2015) and a bronze medal (2014). She also played in two editions of the World Amateur Team Championships together with her sister in 2014 and 2016. In the latter, the team won the silver medal behind South Korea. During her amateur career, Morgane participated in four Ladies European Individual Championships (2014, '15, '16 & '17), earning 3rd and 4th place in 2017 and 2016, respectively. She also participated in the 2017 Vagliano Trophy in Bogogno, Italy, where her team (Continental Europe) won 15- 9. In August 2014, at the age of 17, Morgane left for college in America and joined Florida State University. In her junior year, she won three times individually and six times with her team. During her career as a Seminole, she earned All-America honors for both her junior and senior years. Her best personal finish at the National Championship was a T-5th in 2018. She graduated in April 2018 with a degree in Business Management (Summa Cum Laude honors). Another amateur achievement was qualifying for the 2017 US Women's Open in Bedminster, NJ. she missed the cut.
Morgane turned professional at the end of May 2018, after completing her college career. She played on the Symetra Tour from June 2018 and finished the year 47th on the money list. She played in 13 events and made 11 cuts, recording two T-8th finishes at the IOA Golf Classic and the Donald Ross Classic at French Lick. Unfortunately, in February 2019, Morgane injured her shoulder and missed out on the whole of the 2019 season. Her first event back was the 2020 LET Q-School, where she earned membership in Category 8 for the 2020 season.
2020 Notes: Played in 8 Ladies European Tour events making six cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 45th on the Race to Costa Del Sol points list and 23rd on the money list with earnings of euro45,402. Her best finish was 10th at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International, she shot 68-67 over the weekend and was five shots out of the Emily Kristine Pedersen/Georgia Hall playoff.
2021 Notes: She played in three LET events best finish was T-31st at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International. Played in 18 Symetra Tour events making 14 cuts with five top-ten finishes. She finished 9th on the Symetra Tour money list to earn her LPGA card for 2022. She shot 69-63-67 at the Island Resort Championship to best Maude-Aimee Leblanc by a shot. She earned a spot playing for the Swiss Team at the Olympics but decided not to play so that she could get ready to play at the Amundi Evian Championship just across Lake Geneva from where she grew up in Switzerland. She missed the cut at the Evian.
2022 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA Tour events making 11 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 85th in the CME rankings and 89th on the money with earnings of $221,116. On the LPGA Tour was T-10th at the Kroger Queen City Championship, and in her last LPGA start shot a final round 64 at the Pelican Womens Championship to finish T-4th, five shots back of winner Nelly Korda. Playing on the Ladies European Tour, she played in seven events making six cuts, and was 18th in the Race to Costa del Sol. Finished T-3rd at the Mithra Belgian Ladies Open, shot closing rounds of 65-67, and was three back of the winner Linn Grant. Next week shot rounds of 67-70-69 at the Ladies Italian Open. She made birdie on three of her last four holes to get into a playoff with Alessandra Fanali and Meghan MacLaren and, on the first playoff hole, made an eagle to win her first LET title. She ended her season finishing 2nd at the Andalucia Open De Espana. She lost a playoff on the fourth hole to Caroline Hedwall.
2023 Notes: Best LPGA finish T-17th at the Cognizant Founders Cup. On the LET was T-16th at the Amundi Evian Championship.
