Moriya Jutanugarn

She was born in Bangkok and has a younger sister, Ariya, who is also playing on the LPGA Tour. Their parents, Somboon and Narumon, own a professional golf shop near Bangkok at the Rose Garden Golf Course.
Runner-up at the 2012 AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Championship. Winner of South Atlantic Amateur Championship (The Sally) in 2012. By winning The Sally, she was invited to play in the 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship; she missed the cut with rounds of 77-74. Placed 2nd at the 2012 Dixie Amateur. Played in the 2012 Honda LPGA Thailand on a sponsor's exemption; she finished T-44th. Runner-up at the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. Won 2011 AJGA Heather Farr and Scott Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament. Played in the 2011 LPGA State Farm Classic and the Honda LPGA Thailand (T-38th). Advanced to match play in the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links. Lost in the second round of match play in the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur. Won 2009 Duke of York Young Champions Trophy at Dundonald Links in Scotland. Became the first girl to win the Junior Open Championship, conducted by The R&A, in 2008 at the age of 14; she finished one shot ahead of Jordan Spieth. Had eight top-10 finishes in her career with the AJGA from 2010-2012. Her younger sister, Ariya, is also professional and plays on the LPGA.
Turned pro in 2012 and qualified for the LPGA Tour on her first attempt by earning co-medalist honors at the 2012 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. Her mother came on tour with her as her father was with Ariya on the LET.
2013 Notes: Played in 24 events, making 18 cuts. Had six top-20 finishes; her only top 10 was a T-4th at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. Earned Rolex Rookie of the Year honors, defeating Caroline Masson by just one point for the award. She earned $293,158, which ranked 47th on the money list.
2014 Notes: She was 56th on the money list with $295,473 and 34th in CME points with 23 cuts made in 30 starts. She had two top-10s, including a T-5th at the Yokohama Tire Classic and a T-10th at the Evian Championship.
2015 Notes: In 29 starts, made 20 cuts and finished 64th on the money list and 70th in CME points. Best finish was T-8th at the Kia Classic and T-10th at the ShopRite Classic. She was paired with her sister, Ariya, during the second round of the KEB Hana Bank Championship, the first time the sisters were in the same group during an LPGA event. Moriya shot 68, Ariya shot 74.
2016 Notes: Played in 29 LPGA events, making 24 cuts, with two top-10 finishes. She was 4th in the Lotte Championship after weekend rounds of 68-68, finishing two shots back of winner Minjee Lee. Also, T-4th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Was 40th on the money list with $446,948 and 57th in CME points.
2017 Notes: Played in 28 events making 27 cuts. Recorded the best season of her career, earning over $1 million in a season for the first time with 11 top-10 finishes, including two runner-ups. Was 9th on the money list with $1,320,900. Was a career-best T-2nd at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, two back of winner So Yeon Ryu. Also was runner-up at the Blue Bay LPGA, one shot back of winner Shanshan Feng. T-3rd at the Cambia Portland Open and Evian Championship. Was T-4th at the Meijer Classic, three back of winner Brooke M. Henderson. T-5th at the Toto Japan Classic.
2018 Notes: Played in 28 LPGA events making 26 cuts with eight top-10 finishes. She won the Hugel JTBC LA Open for her first LPGA victory in her 156th career start. Moriya beat Inbee Park and Jin Young Ko by 2 shots. With the win, Moriya joined sister Ariya as the second sister pair to not only win on the LPGA Tour but also in the same year. Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam were the first in 2000 to become the only winning sisters on the LPGA Tour. Moriya was T-2nd at the Honda LPGA Thailand, 4 shots back of winner Jessica Korda. Also T-6th a the ANA Inspiration, 2 shots back of the playoff, 3rd at the LPGA Volvik Championship 2 shots back of winner Minjee Lee. She was a member of Thailand's team in the UL International Crown and was 2-1-1 in the matches. Finished the year 14th on the money list with $1,003,169 and was 10th in the Race to CME.
2019 Notes: Played in 29 LPGA Tour events making 25 cuts with seven top-ten finishes. Was 25th on the money list with $785,105 and was 22nd on the CME points list. Was T-4th at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions, four shots back of winner Eun-Hee Ji. Shot 75-71 to finish T-9th at the LPGA Lotte Championship over the weekend. Moriya and her sister Ariya caddied for longtime friend and fellow Thai player Kiradech Aphibarnrat during the Masters Par 3 Contest. Was T-3rd at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with sister Ariya as her partner. T-6th at the Evian Championship, then 2nd at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, four shots back of winner Mi Jung Hur.
2020 Notes: Played in 13 LPGA Tour events making 13 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Was 16th on the money list with $551,475 in earnings and 18th on the CME points list. Was T-6th at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boco Rio and U.S. Women's Open. Best finish was T-3rd at the Cambia Portland Classic, one shot back of the playoff with Georgia Hall and Ashleigh Buhai.
2021 Notes: Played in 23 events on the LPGA Tour and made 17 cuts with six top-10s, including a win at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational team event with her sister Ariya. Was 16th on the money list for the second straight year with $948,950 and 14th in CME points. Was second at the Pure Silk Championship, two strokes back of winner Wei-Ling Hsu. With sister Ariya, won the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational by three strokes, finishing at 24-under 256 to beat defending champs Cydney Clanton and Jasmine Suwannapura. The Jutanugarns shot 59 in both four-ball rounds, including the finale, and were the only team to break 60 in any round all week.
2022 Notes: Played in 28 LPGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 51st on the money list with $615,048 in earnings and was 53rd in CME points. She was T-9th in the Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play for her first top-10 finish of the season. Finished T-11th in the U.S. Women's Open. She finished T-5th at the Ascendant LPGA Volunteers of America, seven shots back of the winner Charley Hull. In the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, finished T-13th.
2023 Notes: She finished T-7th at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mt. She helped Thailand win the Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown, going 5-0 in the matches.
