Nancy Scranton

Scranton had an impressive amateur career as she won the 1983 Illinois Women's State Championship in 1979 and 1982, the 1983 Southern Illinois Championship and the 1981 and 1982 St. Louis Metro Championship. She split her collegiate career between Florida State and the University of Kentucky. Scranton registered three top-five finishes, including victories at the 1984 Western Kentucky Invitational and the 1984 Southern Illinois University Invitational. Scranton was named All-Southeastern Conference in 1983.
Nancy joined the LPGA in 1985 and played in 607 events. She made the cut in 402 events, finishing in the top-10 67 times. She won three times, the last coming in the 2000 Subaru Memorial of Naples. Her rookie season on the LPGA Tour came in 1985 and her best finish that season was T-19th at the LPGA Championship. In 1989 she earned runner-up at the Ocean State Classic. Scranton clenched her first career win in 1991 at the du Maurier Ltd. Classic and then won the Los Coyotes LPGA classic title in 1992, where she shot 65 in the final round to make up a seven-shot deficit. She crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings in 1993. Scranton went seven years without a victory and then in 2001 she captured the Subaru Memorial of Naples title after a two-hole, sudden-death playoff with Maria Hjorth. The same year she finished T-3rd at the McDonald's LPGA Championship for the second year in a row and then qualified or her first U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Scranton continued to play on Tour until 2004 when she took maternity leave after giving birth to twins on Dec. 2: Libby Jane and Luke Scranton. In 2005, she came back and recorded a season-best of T-11th at the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women's Open. She has since played on the Legends Tour, competing in over 40 events including five wins: 2013 Walgreens Charity Championship, 2012 Legends Swing for the Cure, 2011 Women's Senior National Invitational, 2006 and 2007 BJ's Charity Championship Co-Champion. She finished T-4th at the 2018 Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cup in Washington.
Scranton credits Tom Wargo and Hank Johnson as the teachers having the most influence on her career.

Nancy shot 79-81=160 (+14) to miss the cut in the first U.S. Senior Women's Open.
