Sarah Jane Smith

Started playing golf at age 12 and credits her dad as the individual most influencing her career. Played as Sarah Jane Kenyon from 2006-08 before marrying Duane Smith in 2009.
Represented Australia six times in her amateur career: on the Australian Junior Team (1999, 2000-02) and Queensland State Team (2003-04). Was victorious at the 2001 Greg Norman Junior Masters, the 2002 Australian Junior Championship, the Queensland Junior Championship and at both the 2003 NSW Stroke Play Championship and Queensland Stroke Play Championship. Was the top-ranked junior in Australia in 2002 and the top-ranked amateur in 2003. Low amateur at the 2004 Australian Open, finishing 10th and was a member of the 2004 Australian World Cup Team.
Turned professional in December of 2004.
In 2005, played in 18 events on the Duramed Futures Tour, winning the Tampa Bay FUTURES Golf Classic. Also competed on the Australian Ladies Professional Golf (ALPG) Tour and recorded a top-10 finish at the Titanium Enterprises ALPG Players Championship. She T-54th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 2006 LPGA season.
In 2006, competed on both the ALPG Tour and the Duramed Futures Tour, recording one and three top-10 finishes, respectively, but did not retain her playing status for the 2007 LPGA season.
In 2007, competed in 19 events on the Futures Tour and in five events on the ALPG Tour. T-20th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to retain non-exempt status for the 2008 LPGA season.
In 2008, recorded a career-best T6 at the Navistar LPGA Classic Presented by MaxxForce. She also competed on the Futures Tour, where she recorded six top-10 finishes in 10 starts, including a win at the ILOVENY Championship. Smith finished third on the Futures Tour season-ending money list to earn Priority List Category 9 for the 2009 LPGA season.
Played in 17 events in 2009 with her best finish being a T-19th at the Navistar LPGA Classic Presented by Monaco RV, where she carded a career-low 66 in the third round.
2010 Notes: Played in 13 events, recorded a season-best T-14th at the LPGA Championship Presented by Wegmans.
2011 Notes: Played in 14 events. Her best finish was a T10 at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup.
2012 Notes: Played in 17 events, made 13 cuts and earned $153,140 (67th on the money list). She had two top-10 finishes and a season-best T6 at the Navistar LPGA Classic.
2013 Notes: Made 13 cuts out of 21 events and finished 86th on the Tour money list. Recorded a season-best T15 finish at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. Ended the season ranked 32nd on Tour in eagles made with five.
2014 Notes: She was 62nd on the money list with $243,097 and 35th in CME points. She had a career-best T-2nd finish at the Kingsmill Championship, finishing three strokes back of winner Lizette Salas.
In 2015 was T-15th at the Manulife LPGA Classic.
2015 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA inverts making cuts. Best finish was T-15th at the Manulife LPGA Classic. Was 94th on the money list with $85,180.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 events making 24 cuts. Her only top-10 finish was T-2nd at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational, 2 back of winner Carlota Ciganda. Was 56th on the money list with $340,318 and 56th in CME points.
2017 Notes: Played in 31 LPGA events making 27 cuts and recording nine top-25 finishes. Had a career-best 50th on the money list. Finished 2nd in the Gold Coast Challenge on the Australian LPGA in February, 1 back of winner Prima Thammaraks. A week later, was T-3rd in the Women's Australian Open. Smith had made 35 straight cuts on the LPGA Tour, including 14 to start 2017 with, before missing the cut at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Was T-11th at the Volvik Championship.
2018 Notes: Finished T-26th at the Kia Classic.
Enjoys watching movies, doing arts and crafts, drawing, painting, running and going to the gym when she's not on the golf course. Her favorite on-course memory was when she won the final event on the Symetra Tour in 2005 to earn her LPGA Tour card. Says if golf had walk-up songs on the first tee, she would pick Katy Perry's "Roar" because it makes her feel confident.
