Ssu-Chia Cheng

Cheng shot 69 to finish T-3rd in AIG Women's Open qualifying at Panmure.

Started playing golf at age 8, she won four TLPGA events as an amateur.She had a great junior career in her homeland, Cheng was the first female amateur to win multiple professional events on the Taiwan LPGA Tour as an amateur. Her nickname is "Scarlet."
In 2014, as an amateur, Ssu-Chia won the inaugural Xiamen Open at Orient (Xiamen) Golf and Country Club in China on her Ladies European Tour debut, at age 17. With a par on the last hole, she recorded a 54-hole total of 10 under par and a three-stroke win over French professional Marion Ricordeau, who earned the euro 37,500 first prize check due to Cheng's amateur status.
2015 Notes: Her rookie year on the Ladies European Tour, Ssu-Chia made 12 appearances on the LET and recorded 3 top-10 finishes including T-2nd at the Xiamen International Ladies Open, where she was the defending champion and T-4th in the Sanya Ladies Open. She finished 3rd in the Rookie Ranking and 13th on the 2015 Order of Merit.
2016 Notes: Played twice on the LET, was T-75th at the Handa Women's Open and T-5th at the RACV Ladies Masters. On the LPGA Tour, played in 16 events and made 7 cuts. Her best finish is T-31st at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Was 122nd on the LPGA Tour money list with $43,828 in official earnings.
Played twice on the Symetra Tour and was T-9th at Florida's Natural Charity Classic and T-12th at the Chico's Patty Berg Memorial.
2017 Notes: Played in 16 events on the LPGA Tour and only made one cut, 80th Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan.
2018 Notes: PLayed in 19 events on the Symetra Tour making 12 cuts. She was 46th on the money list with #23,588 in earnings. Her best finish wsa T-4th at the Island Resort Championship.
2019 Notes: Played in 22 Symetra Tour events making 21 Cuts. She had six top-ten finishes including a win at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel. She also had a pair of runner-up finishes at the Donald Ross Classic at French Link and IOA Invitational. Finished fourth on the Symetra Tour money list to earn LPGA membership for the 2020 season
2020 Notes: Only played twice on the LPGA Tour with a T-35th at the ISPS Handa Vic Open and cut at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. WIth COVID-19 putting a halt on events and traveling Cheng stayed homne in Chinese Taipei playing on the Taiwan LPGA Tour, where she had seven straight top-20 finishes, including five top 10s.
2021 Notes: Was able to return to full-time golf on the LPGA Tour, her best finish is T-15th at the Marathon Classic, she started with a first round 66 her low round of the year.
A great lover of links golf, enjoys coming to the UK form her career on the LPGA circuit. As a 17-year-old amateur, she won the 2014 Xiamen Open, a Ladies European Tour event.
