Bill Glasson

Since first joining the PGA Tour in 1984, Glasson has undergone 13 surgeries - on his knees, elbows, and sinuses. A two-time All-American from Oral Roberts, Glasson led the Tour in driving distance his rookie year but lost his card. After regaining his playing privileges, Glasson won for the first time, sinking a 50-foot birdie putt on the final hole at the 1985 Kemper Open to win by one over Corey Pavin and Larry Mize. Despite frequent health-related absences from the tour, Glasson won regularly, picking up seven Tour titles. He has said that he plays golf to pay for his flying habit, and for several years flew his own plane between tour stops.
A full-time member of the PGA Tour from 1984-2006, playing 476 events and making 284 cuts, has 65 top-10 finishes with six runner-up finishes with earnings of just over $6.9 million dollars. Competed on the Web.com Tour off and on since 2002 getting ready for the Champions Tour, making 27 career starts, 7 cuts with one top-10, a runner-up finish in the 2003 Northeast Pennsylvania Classic.
In 2010, joined the Champions Tour in May and made 12 starts in his rookie season. Debuted on the circuit at the Regions Charity Classic and was T31st in Birmingham. In his next appearance, posted a pair of sub-par rounds on the weekend at the Senior PGA Championship to finish T6th in Colorado. He also played his way into contention at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open and eventually finished T6th at En-Joie GC.
2011 Notes: Played his first full Champions Tour season and finished 44th on the money list. Fired a closing-round, 8-under-par 64, his low round on the Champions Tour, to finish T4th at the Montreal Championship, his best showing of the year.
2012 Notes: More than doubled his previous year's earnings on the strength of three top-three finishes and seven top-10 finishes overall. Best finish was in the inaugural Pacific Links Hawaii Championship. After having a lead in the final round that grew to as many as five strokes, he struggled on his final six holes, making bogeys on four of those, including one at No. 18. He eventually finished second, one stroke behind Willie Wood, who closed with birdies on his final two holes. His runner-up finish was his career-best Champions Tour effort. Went on to finish 16th on the money list with $905,365. It's the second biggest year (best was 1997, $926,552) he has had on any tour.
2013 Notes: After finishing 16th on the final money list in 2012, fell 17 spots to 33rd a year later. Had five top-10s, best finish was a T-9th in three events, Constellation Senior Players Championship, Montreal Championship and then the Greater Hickory Kia Classic. In that event shot a career-low 61 in the final round.
2014 Notes: Surpassed his 2013 earnings, but dropped two spots on the final money list, from 33rd to 35th. Matched the tournament course scoring record at The Wakonda Club when he closed with an 8-under-par 64 in the final round at The Principal Charity Classic. Was the clubhouse leader at one point during the afternoon before eventually finishing T-3rd, one shot shy of the playoff between Doug Garwood and eventual winner Tom Pernice, Jr. Finished T-6th at the Constellation Senior Players Championship. Also posted a T-10th at the Quebec Championship.
2015 Notes: Only played in four events before he underwent double hip replacement surgery on April 8. Did not play the remainder of the year, his best finish was T-39th at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Championship.
2016 Notes: Returned to competition for the first time in over a year following double hip replacement surgery finishing T-28th at the Senior PGA Championship in late May. Also played in the Principal Charity (T-54th) and Dick's Sporting Goods (T-45th).
2017 Notes: Played in just three events, 65th in Senior PGA Championship, T-29th Principal Charity Classic, and T-44th American Family Insurance.
This week's PGA Senior Championship is his first event in 2018.
