Brad Faxon

Enjoyed great success as an amateur and college player, winning the Rhode Island State Junior three times, the State Amateur twice, and the New England Amateur twice. At Furman University, he won 11 collegiate titles plus the Fred Haskins Award and the NCAA Coaches Award as the player of the year. He also played on the 1983 Walker Cup Team. He qualified for the PGA Tour in 1984 and won for the first time in 1986, at the Provident Classic.
Played in a total of 706 PGA Tour events, making the cut 451 times. Record 88 top-10 finishes among 8 wins, 17 runner-up finishes and 9, top-3s. Had career earnings of $17.7 million and was never outside the top 125 of the money list between 1984 and 2005. Biggest financial year was 2003, when he won $2.7 million to finish 11th on the money list. Had three runner-up finishes in 27 starts. In 2008, played sparingly on the PGA Tour after undergoing ACL and microfracture surgery on his right leg in December 2007. Along with Billy Andrade, runs Billy Andrade/Brad Faxon Charities for Children, Inc., which was formed in 1991 and has donated more than $15 million to youngsters in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
2011 Notes: Two months after turning 50 and in just his sixth Champions Tour event, won the rain-shortened Insperity Championship.
2012 Notes: Finished 41st on the money list in his first full Champions Tour season and had a pair of top-10 finishes. Held the lead for most of the final round of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open before a bogey at the 17th dropped him one stroke out of a playoff and led to a T3rd finish at En-Joie GC. Honored in April at the annual Golf Writers Association of America Awards Dinner in Augusta with the ASAP Sports/Jim Murray Award, given to a player for his cooperation, quotability and accommodation to the media
2013 Notes: Won on the Champions Tour for a second time when he teamed with Jeff Sluman to win the Legends Division at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf. The pair owned the first-round lead, trailed by one stroke after 36 holes and closed out the victory on Sunday with a bogey-free 7-under-par 65, giving them a one-stroke victory over Fred Funk/Mike Goodes and Kenny Perry/Gene Sauers. Finished the year 37th on the money list.
2014 Notes: His best finish in 20 starts came in September in Quebec. Was the 36-hole co-leader with Esteban Toledo after consecutive rounds of 67 at the Quebec Championship and carded a final-round 71 to finish T-3rd in the Canadian event, his best individual Champions Tour finish since registering a victory at the 2011 Insperity Championship. Finished the year 59th on the money list and 57th in the Schwab Rankings.
2015 Notes: Played a limited schedule as he joins Fox Sports as a member of its golf broadcast team, where he'll serve as the lead studio analyst and hole announcer for the network's USGA events. In 15 events best finish was T-9th at the SAS Championship. He was 85th on the money list and Schwab rankings.
2016 Notes: Again a limited schedule with his TV work, he played in 12 events and his best finish was T-22nd at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf with teammate Scott McCarron. Was 85th on the money list and Schwab Rankings.
2017 Notes: Competed in just 10 events, the fewest heÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s played in a PGA Tour Champions Tour season since playing just 7 in his abbreviated 2011 campaign when he turned 50 in August. Made just two starts after July. Turned in his best finish in late July when he was 14th at the Senior Open Championship in Wales. Punisher 4th on the Schwab money list.
2018 Notes: Best finish T-31st at the Bass Pro Shops Legends with partner Joey Sindelar.
