Playing in his first-ever Nationwide Tour event after Monday-qualifying with a 63, went on to shoot a first-round 60 and led wire-to-wire in winning by eight strokes at the Gila River Golf Classic. Became the first player to Monday qualify, win in his first career start and lead wire-to-wire in Nationwide Tour history. Was the 17th Monday qualifier in Tour history to win. Tied the Tour record for largest 54-hole margin (six strokes) and won by the second-largest margin in Tour history (eight strokes). First-round 60 was one stroke off the Tour-record of 59 set by Notah Begay III and Doug Dunakey. His 60 also matched the lowest first-round score in Tour history (Jimmy Green, 1998 Carolina Classic).
2004 Nationwide Tour Summary: Played three times, won at Gila River, Cut at Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic and T51 in Miccosukee Championship. Also played in three PGA Tour events best finish, T49th Buick Championship.
2005 Nationwide Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 24; in money - 14; top-10 finishes - 0; scoring average 72.25 (ranked 127th); money $25,527 (ranked 136th); best finish T26th, Virginia Beach Open.
