Derek Chang

Chang earned All-State honors as a junior golfer in Georgia three consecutive years, from 2006-2008. In his junior year at Marist High School, he was the runner-up at the Class AAAA state individual championship. He improved on that result in his senior year when he was crowned the Georgia Class AAAA state champion.
He went to the University of Minnesota for two years and was in the lineup for 20 of the 22 possible events before transferring to Augusta (Ga.) University, where he played in all 10 events for the Jaguars.
Chang?s major accomplishments came in the form of consecutive wins at the Southeastern Amateur in Columbus, Ga. in 2009 and 2010.
He turned professional in 2013, and followed the PGA Tour Latinoamerica Tour in 2015, but made just one cut in eight events (T-50th Lexus Panama Classic). He wanted to spend more time closer to home this year, so has mostly played qualifiers for Web.com and PGA Tour events near his home state of Texas. He has yet to make a PGA Tour or Web.Com start.
