Eddie Pepperell

Pepperell began playing golf at the age of 4 with his father, who runs the local clubhouse, and his brother, who is now a golf coach, before beginning to take the game seriously at the age of 12. Says he was always very focused and driven in becoming a professional and preferred to spend time on the practice ground rather than in the local pubs and clubs. Supports Chelsea and Reading and enjoys reading books about improving sports performance.
Took full advantage of the opportunity to play at the 2012 Allianz Open Cotes d'Armor Bretagne on the Challenge Tour by winning the tournament by one stroke. Until then, competed at the lowest playing category, but ended the season clutching a European Tour card after finishing 13th in the rankings. Turned professional in 2011 after a glittering amateur career, during which he played on three victorious Jacques Leglise Trophy teams and was part of England's victory at the 2010 European Team Championships. Enjoyed a fine first full season on the Challenge Tour, adding top-10 finishes at the Allianz Golf Open Toulouse Metropole, the Allianz Open de Lyon, and the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final to his victory in France.
2013 Notes: Played 25 events and made 16 cuts. His best finish was T-6th at the BMW PGA Championship and T-8th at the Open de Espana. Finished 76th in the Race to Dubai.
2014 Notes: Played 27 events, making 15 cuts. His best finish was 4th at the KLM Open. Also had T-4th results at the Handa Wales Open and Made in Denmark. Finished the year with six top-10s, and a rank of 49th in the Race to Dubai.
2015 Notes: Played 23 European Tour events, making 17 cuts. Posted a 4th-place finish at the Qatar Masters and a T-5th at the KLM Open. His best career finish was runner-up at the Irish Open, losing in the playoff when Soren Kjeldsen birdied the first playoff hole. Also finished T-4th at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, two shots behind winner Rickie F Owen. Was 49th in the Race to Dubai with euro777,143.
2016 Notes: Played 22 events on the European Tour but only made 10 cuts. Had three top-10 finishes with the best a T-6th at the King's Cup. Finished 113th in the Race to Dubai, but claimed the eighth card at the European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage to keep his place on the tour for 2017.
2017 Notes: Played 24 events on the European Tour, making the cut in 15. He had 5 top-10 finishes, including a pair of back-to-back 3rd-place finishes at the KLM Open and Portugal Masters. He finished 41st in the Race to Dubai. In his last 10 starts of the year, he had seven top-10 finishes, with four of them in the top-5.
2018 Notes: Played 22 European Tour events, making 16 cuts with seven top-10 results. Was 14th in the Race to Dubai. Won his first tile at the Commerical Bank Qatar Masters, defeating Oliver Fisher by a shot. Finished 2nd at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, shooting a final-round 64 to finish four shots behind winner Brandon Stone, who shot 60 in the final round. With the finish, got one of the last berths in the British Open at Carnoustie, where he finished T-6th after shooting a final-round 67. Was T-6th at the KLM Open, and the next week, T-2nd at the Portugal Masters, three shots behind winner Tom Lewis. Earned his second European Tour victory of the season in wire-to-wire fashion at the Sky Sports British Masters. Recorded an ace in the first round from 189 yards at the par-3 ninth hole on his way to victory. With the win, reached his highest position on the Official World Golf Ranking, climbing to 33rd.
2019 Notes: Played in 19 European Tour events making 15 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Was 54th in the Race to Dubai. In his first start at The Players Championship, closed with seven birdies in his last 12 holes to post a final-round six-under 66 to finish at 14-under and T-3rd, two shots behind winner Rory McIlroy. Pepperell made consecutive birdies on holes 15-17, highlighted by a 49-foot putt for birdie at 17. Finished T-2nd at the Betfred British Masters, one shot back of winner Marcus Kinhult who birdied his final two holes. Was T-4th at the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open 3 shots back of winner Jon Rahm. T-6th at the Portugal Masters, 4 shots back of winner Steven Brown.
2020 Notes: Best finish T-11th Dubai Desert Classic.
