Frank Adams III

Adams learned the game in Laurinburg, N.C. as the oldest of three athletic brothers. Russ was two years younger than Frank, while Stewart was two years behind Russ.
Attended Scotland High School in Laurinburg, N.C. Was all-conference in basketball, baseball and golf during his junior and senior years and earned Athlete of the Year honors his senior year. Brother Russ played Major League Baseball and another brother, Stewart, played football at Appalachian State and Catawba. Frank headed to East Carolina to continue his education and his career.
Adams has been making a living at golf since he turned pro in 2002, although he spent most of his time on mini-tours. He?s won a number of tournaments, but even as the leading money winner on the eGolf Tour in 2015, he received a modest $58,385 for 14 events.
Adams currently is playing on the GPro Tour, and after the event in Greensboro the last weekend in May he was the leading money winner with $11,485.65. He is playing in the GProTour Skins the week before the U.S. Open.
Adams has tried to make it to the U.S. Open for a long time. There were two previous years in which he made it through local qualifying but faltered at the sectional level. Adams regularly tries to Monday qualify for PGA Tour and Web.com Tour events. In 2012 qualifying got him into the Wells Fargo Championship (his only PGA Tour start) but missed the cut. Adams' brother, Russ, will be on the bag for the U.S. Open as he was Monday at the sectional qualifier. Russ played for six years, mostly with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Adams was married in 2012 to Allison Dupree and they have two sons.
