Jarrod Lyle

Father introduced him to golf at the age of 6 when Jarrod caddy for him. In 1999, was struck down by Acute Myeloid Leukemia and confined to a bed in a hospital for nine months. During his time in the hospital, forged a friendship with Robert Allenby who visited him in the hospital. Allenby was a constant source of inspiration for Jarrod, helping him to fulfil his golfing ambitions. Players on the Asian Tour have labeled him the "Lance Armstrong of the Asian Tour."

Gained attention when he just missed the playoff of the 2005 Heineken Classic at Royal Melbourne. Quickly became a crowd favourite when he played the final round with Craig Parry and Nick O'Hern. Subsequently earned his Asian Tour card at Qualifying School and enjoyed a great rookie year. Safely kept his card with two second-place finishes at the Macau Open and the inaugural Brunei Open. Made an unsuccessful attempt at the European Tour Qualifying School later in the year after closing with a disappointing 78. Qualified to play at the 2004 Australian Open. Selected to represent Australia in the 2004 World Amateur Teams Championship (Eisenhower Trophy) and was runner-up at 2004 Australian and New Zealand Amateur Championships, medallist at the 2004 New Zealand Stroke Play, won the 2003 and 2004 Lake Macquarie Amateur and recorded four top-five finishes in the 2004 National Selection Trials.

Played on the Australian Tour, Asian Tour in 2005, best finish T3rd in Heineken Classic and 2nd in Brunei Open.

Started playing on the Nationwide Tour in 2006, making the cut in 17 of 21 starts and posting seven top-10 finishses in his rookie season on the Nationwide Tour. Opened the season with a T4th at the Jacob's Creek Open Championship and a T2nd at the ING New Zealand PGA Championship, just one shot behind tournament winner Jim Rutledge. Added a third-place effort at the Palmetto Pride Classic. Finished the year 18th on the money list, which got him a spot on the PGA Tour. Also missed the cut at the British Open (his only career PGA Tour start up to that point) and finished T4th at the European Tour's Volvo China Open.

Finished his rookie season on the 2007 PGA Tour season 164th on the money list, with $390,303. Made the cut in 14 of 24 starts, with three top-25 finishes. Enjoyed his best outings with T12s at the Reno-Tahoe Open and the Fry's Electronics Open. Took a break from the Tour and finished third at the Nationwide Tour's 2007 Chitimacha Louisiana Open. Rookie on the PGA Tour after finishing 18th on the 2006 Nationwide Tour money list, with $227,909.

Made the cut in 18 of 26 starts on the 2008 Nationwide Tour, with six top-10 finishes. Finished T6th at the season-opening Panama Movistar Championship. Followed that with his first career win a week later at the inaugural Mexico Open in Morelia. Maintained his top spot on the money list with a T5th at the Moonah Classic. T7th at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic. Regained the top spot on the money list with his second victory of the year at the Knoxville Open, where he defeated Chris Kirk with a birdie at the first extra hole after both had tied at 19-under 269. Shot four rounds in the 60s to finish second at the Xerox Classic despite three bogeys in the final six holes. For the year was fourth on the money list, and returned to the PGA Tour.

In 2009, made 11 of 21 cuts on the PGA Tour and finished 175th on the money list. Finished T6th at the 2009 Mayakoba Golf Classic. Playing in 2010 on a Minor Medical Extension, has five events to earn $387,488 (coupled with $275,195 from 2009) to continue status for remainder of the year.
