Joakim Haeggman

The year after, he also won the French Junior Open Match-play Championship.
He turned professional in 1989. He was still a junior, so he never represented Sweden on the highest amateur level, only at the boys' level and the Continent of Europe at the Jacques Leglise Trophy.
He won his place on the European Tour at the 1989 qualifying school. He has won three events on the European Tour and several other professional events. His best seasons were 1993, 1997, and 2004, in which he made the top twenty on the Order of Merit.
Haeggman won his first tournament at the 1993 Peugeot Spanish Open, becoming the first Swedish winner and claiming the tenth Swedish victory on the European Tour. The same year, Haeggman became the first Swede to play for the European Team in the Ryder Cup. He won his Sunday singles match against John Cook 1 up, but Europe lost the Ryder Cup match against the United States 15-13 at The Belfry Golf Club, England.
Haeggman was out of the game for nearly two years following an ice hockey accident in 1994 which left him with a dislocated shoulder and broken ribs, which deprived him of the chance to play in the following Ryder Cup, and he has not represented Europe again. He also missed half a season after breaking his ankle playing ice hockey in December 2002. Haeggman represented Sweden four times at the World Cup and twice at the Dunhill Cup.
At the 1993 Dunhill Cup at the Old Course, St Andrews, Scotland, the Swedish team of Haeggman, Anders Forsbrand, and Jesper Parnevik finished T-3rd after losing just one match to the United States in the semi-finals.
At the 1997 Dunhill Cup, Haeggman scored a record 27 strokes on the front nine holes at the Old Course in his stroke-play match against Justin Leonard, United States. The Swedish team of Haeggman, Per-Ulrik Johansson, and Jesper Parnevik eventually lost in the tournament's final against South Africa.
Haeggman and Jesper Parnevik represented Sweden at the 1994 World Cup of Golf at the Hyatt Dorado Beach Resort in Puerto Rico. Sweden finished 3rd, behind the United States and Zimbabwe. Haeggman was 9th in the individual competition.
Haeggman played in 468 European Tour events making 271 cuts with 47 top-ten finishes. He won a total of euro4,389,542.
2019 Notes: Played in seven European Legends Tour events with two top-ten finishes. He was 44th in the Order of Merit with euro32,516. His best finish was T-10th at the Paris Legends Championship and T-6th at the MCB Tour Championship - Seychelles.
2021 Notes: Was T-14th in the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, missed the cut at the U.S. Senior Open, and T-40th at the Senior Open Championship. He played in ten events on the European Legends Tour with three top-ten finishes. Was 8th on the Order of Merit with euro117,468, Was 2nd at the Senior Italian Open, a shot back of winner James Kingston. He finished T-7th at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters and T-8th at the Scottish Senior Open.
2022 Notes: Played in 13 Legends Tour events with four top-tens. Was 5th on the Order of Merit. Shot a final-round 67 to finish T-3rd, two shots back of winner Euan McIntosh at the Riegler & Partner Legends. He was 2nd at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship, six shots back of winner Adilson DaSilva. Shot a final round 66 to win the MCB Tour Championship - Seychelles by four shots over Adilson DaSilva.
2023 Notes: Finished T-14th at the Riegler & Partner Legends.
