Jordan Niebrugge

Thanks to a second-round 67 at Tacoma Country & Golf Club, Niebrugge will be playing his first U.S. Open just down the road from his family's residence in Mequon, Wis. In the summer of 2015, after qualifying for the Open Championship, Niebrugge found time to play a fun round at Whistling Straits with his father, Rod, and some friends, including Steve O'Brien, his coach at Homestead High School. After working on the practice range on a swing tip from Dennis Tiziani, Steve Stricker's father-in-law, Niebrugge went out and shot a 3-under-par 69 from the back tees. He told Gary D'Amato of the Milwaukee Journal "I've got a great opportunity coming up," he said. "I'm pretty familiar with links-style golf. My game is on the incline, so I'm really excited to get over there and play the Old Course. I can't wait."
Niebrugge made headlines after finishing tied for sixth and earning a silver medal as the low amateur at the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews, where he recorded the lowest total score ever by an amateur in the championship?s history.
In the summer of 2013, Niebrugge won the Wisconsin Match Play Championship, then produced an amateur winning streak that consisted of victories at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, Wisconsin State Amateur and the Western Amateur.
During the run, which extended over 22 days, he traveled more than 1,600 miles, and played 10 rounds of stroke play and 10 rounds of match play. His run ended ended at the U.S. Amateur, where Seth Reeves defeated him, 1 up. Previous victories at the Wisconsin State Open and the WIAA High School Championship placed Jordan and PGA Tour golfer Mark Wilson as the only golfers to win all four events of the ?Wisconsin Slam.?
With his win at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, Niebrugge received an invitation to compete at the 2014 Masters Tournament, where he missed the cut. He represented the USA in the 2013 and 2015 Walker Cup Matches. He also competed for the United States at the 2013 Spirit International, helping the American squad to the Gold Medal.
The 2016 Oklahoma State graduate was named PING All-America honorable mention and a first-team All-Big 12 player four times. Was part of the 2014 Oklahoma State University team that finished as the runner-up at NCAA Championships at Prairie Dunes in Hutchinson, Kansas. His first college career victory came as a sophomore at the Amer Ari Invitational, where he fired rounds of 67, 68 and 65 to finish at 16-under 200.
Finished his senior year at Oklahoma State in May of 2016 and turned professional. He currently plays on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada.
Made his professional debut at the Quicken Loans missing the cut. Also missed the cut at the British Open, RBC Canadian Open, Travelers Championship, John Deere and Wyndham Championship.
2017 Notes: Missed the cut at the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, was T-45th at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open and missed the cut at the Valero Texas Open. Had his best finish as a professional with a T-2nd at the Mackenzie Tour Freedom 55 Financial Open played the end of May. He was 8 shots back of the winner Lee McCoy.
