Kevin Tway

Born in Edmond, Okla., Tway is the son of Bob Tway, an eight-time PGA Tour winner and winner of the 1986 PGA Championship.
Tway attended Edmond North High School, where he was named The Oklahoman's All-City Player of the Year in 2006 and '07. He was a first-team American Junior Golf Association All-American in 2006 and was a second-team pick in 2005. He won the Oklahoma Class 6A individual title in 2006 and 2007. Tway won the 2005 U.S. Junior Amateur and advanced to the semifinals the following year.
Tway played college golf at Oklahoma State University. During his freshman year, he won the NCAA Central Regional and was named honorable mention All-American, first-team All-Big 12 and was selected to the All-Central Region squad.
Tway qualified for the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines but failed to make the cut by four strokes after posting rounds of 75 and 78. Tway lost in the round of 16 in the 2008 U.S. Amateur to Derek Fathauer.
Tway turned professional in 2011 after graduating from Oklahoma State. He made his professional debut at the 2011 Travelers Championship, with his father serving as his caddie. Advanced to the final stage of PGA Tour Q-School at the end of 2012, finishing T-139th to earn conditional playing privileges on the Web.com Tour in 2013.
2013 Web.com Summary: Tournaments entered - 18; In Money - 14; Top-10 F
Finishes - 4; Scoring Average - 70.00 (Rank 18th); Money - $266,766 (Rank 8th); Best Finish: 1st, Albertsons Boise Open. Defeated Spencer Levin on the first playoff hole with a birdie. Both had posted a tournament-record score of 261 (23 under). He finished fifth on the 2013 Web.com Tour regular season money list to earn status on the PGA Tour for 2014.
2014 Notes: His rookie season on the PGA Tour included eight made cuts in 23 starts, finishing the season 177th in the FedExCup standings. His best finish was T-26th at the Travelers Championship. Played in five Web.com Tour events, making four cuts. Defended at the Albertsons Boise Open in July, posting a T-32nd. Finished T-17th, T-52nd, T-27nd and missed the cut in four Web.com Tour Finals events. Placed 65th in the priority ranking, 15 spots behind the 50th and final card issued.
2015 Notes: Made 24 starts on the Web.Com Tour. Finished 2nd once, two top-10s and nine top-25s as he made 17 cuts. He finished T-4th in his third start at the Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship. Six weeks later, finished T-2nd at the El Bosque Mexico Championship. At that point, was 7th on the money list, but indifferent play for the rest of the season only got him one top-20 finish, T-15th at the Digital Ally Open. Finished the year 28th on the money list. In the Web.com Tour Finals, posted a T-52nd, a missed cut and a T-39th in the first three events. Was 62nd on the Finals money list with one event to go and in need of a big week at the Web.com Tour Championship to get to No. 25 or better. Put himself in position with scores of 71-65-67 in the first three rounds. Was T-7th and projected at No. 23 on the Finals money list entering the last day of the season. In need of pars on the last three holes to secure a card, was done in by a ball in the water at 16 and a plugged lie in a greenside bunker at 17, both leading to bogeys. A final-round 70 and T-12th finish pushed him to 39th on the Finals money list, $6,280.
2016 Web.com Summary: Tournaments Entered - 23; Rounds Played - 77; In Money - 15; Top-10 Finishes - 4; Scoring Average - 69.61 (Rank 19th); Regular Season Money - $148,746 (Rank 27th); Playoff Money - $63,975 (Rank 13th); Priority Rank - 19; Best Finishes - 3rd, Price Cutter Charity and T-3rd at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. Got on the PGA Tour for 2017 with his priority rank.
2017 Notes: Played 27 PGA Tour events, making 21 cuts with three top-10 results. Finished T-3rd at the Valero Texas Open, three shots behind winner Kevin Chappell. The next week, finished 3rd at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, where he played with Kelly Kraft. Was T-5th at the Wells Fargo Championship, three shots behind winner Brian Harman. Made the cut in all three FedExCup Playoffs starts, ending the season with a T-53rd at the BMW Championship and a 69th-place finish in the FedExCup standings.
2018 Notes: Played 31 PGA Tour events and made 24 cuts with three top-10 finishes. Was 87th in the FedExCup standings. Placed T-9th at the AT&T Byron Nelson, the next week T-5th at the Fort Worth Invitational. Was T-6th at the Travelers Championship, four shots behind winner Bubba Watson.
2019 Notes: Started his year in spectacular fashion at the Safeway Open. Birdied the last two holes in regulation to tie Ryan Moore and Brandt Snedeker, then birdied the three holes of the playoff to win for the first time on the PGA Tour. He became the 10th son of a PGA tour winner to also win a PGA Tour event. Finished T-11th at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
