Robert Dinwiddie

Finished 12th on the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2013 to graduate to The European Tour for the third time. Twice came runner-up and had two more top tens in an impressive season, which followed a four-month spell away from the game traveling in Thailand. The sabbatical renewed his hunger and he reproduced the sort of form that earned him three Challenge Tour titles, most recently the 2010 Kenya Open. Was plagued by back problems in 2014, however, and will play the 2015 season on a medical extension. Boasted a formidable amateur record before turning professional at the end of 2006 upon graduating from the Tennessee State University, playing in the 2005 Walker Cup and collecting the 2005 Scottish and Welsh Amateur Open Stroke Play Championships as well as the English edition in 2006. Secured his maiden professional win at the 2007 Scottish Challenge and waited just seven days to add a second title â?? the Rolex Trophy.
Played in the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, T-36th, and missed the cut in the 2011 U.S. Open.
2015 Notes: Played in 23 European events making 12 cuts. Was in the top-ten three times, 4th at the Czech Masters, T-3rd at the Lyoness Open, and T-10th at the European Masters. Finished 98th in the Race to Dubai with euro278,927 in earnings.
2016 Notes: Played in 26 European Tour events making 13 cuts. Had three top-tens, T-10th True Thailand Open, T-10th Lyoness Open, and T-9th at the BMW International. Was 116th in the Race to Dubai with euros229,798.
2017 Notes: Played in 15 European Tour events making four cuts Was 212 on the Race to Dubai, making euro41,259. Best finish was T-31st at the KLM Open. Played in 13 Challenge Tour events making four cuts. Was 129th on the order of merit earning euro8,082. His best finish was T-13th at the Challenge de Espana.
Since then has played part time in golf and works part time at his friend's construction company. He played seven times on the Challenge Tour in 2018 and only made one cut. In 2019 played in ten evetns on the Challenge Tour, Mena TOur and Challenge tour, best finish was T-6th at the Troon Sereies-Al Zorah Open. Played once on the Challenge Tour in 2020 finishing T-13th at the Northern Ireland Open. Played five times in 2021 best finish T-29th at the Jessie May WOrld Snooker Golf and Irish Challenge.
Played once in 2022, T-38th at the Blot Open de Bretagne.
It will be Dinwiddie's second Open at the Old Course, he missed the cut in 2015 the first of his two Open's.
