Player Notes: PGA Director of Instruction at Pinewild Country Club of Pinehurst, North Carolina. Finished T-16th in the 2020 Senior PGA Professional Championship; T-26 in 2017. Competed in 2015 U.S. Senior Open, missing the cut. Began playing golf at the age of 11. Introduced to the game when he found his father's clubs in the attic. As a self-taught golfer, he walked on to the North Carolina State University golf team in 1981. His mother is Norwegian, so he has visited the country several times and won the 1985 Norwegian Amateur at Oslo Golf Club. Played on mini-tours for 8 years and went to Q-School 10 times, making it to the finals on four occasions. Played on the Korn Ferry Tour in 1991 (as a full member) and 1992 (as a conditional member). Played a total of 44 Korn Ferry tour events and made the cut 16 times (best finish T-7th in 1991 El Paso Open). Has played in five PGA Tour events. Has competed in eight PGA Professional Championships, with best finish T-26 in 2010. Serves as the men's golf coach at Sandhills Community College (2014 NJCAA Div. III national champions, 2015 runner-up). Is a two-time North Carolina Open Champion (1996, 1998). Winner of the 2011 Carolinas PGA Section Professional Championship; 2001 Carolinas Open Championship; 1987 Kentab Open (Swedish Golf Tour); 1989 & 1993 Bangor Open; 2000, '07 & '08 Pine Crest Cup Championship; 2008 Carolinas PGA Pro-Pro Championship; 2002 & '05 Carolinas PGA Assistant Championship. Runner-up, 2000 Carolina Open (tied for 3rd in 2002). Was the Most Valuable Player in 1985 on the North Carolina State University golf team.
